Saint Vitus: Physical crit ranger guide[Always Updated]
" With a bow similar to that, i got 7k in CB, the only problem is that you should use faster attacks rather than added fire there i think it would work better for you. Sadly there are no supports that increase bow physical damage so we have to stick with what we have, my frenzy was linked to faster attacks, mana leech, inc crit chance and inc crit dmg, with a bow that had around 1.3 attack speed and 250 damage on the top end (citadel like yours) i also used maligaros and i didnt usee broad stroke which would have given me quite a lot more dps than with my old quiver, but less survivability, i also used the Magnate unqiue belt that boosted my dps by quite a nice ammount. You should get all the physical damage nodes that i took in the build i posted to do high damage, every node counts! a friend is currently speccing his ranger at around 81 to this build, ill come with a dps number once he does it and gets a decent bow, it should be quite high he is already doing pretty good damage with only half of his build specced into this. Right, thanks.
I currently do not have suitable 4L for Faster attacks with Frenzy. Too afraid to blow my current GGRB combo at the moment. I also thought that Added fire damage works well with physical build since it adds significant amount of damage on top of each shot. I will have to think about next steps build-wise. I was ignoring one big cluster of physical damage nodes, Heavy Draw notable, because I wanted to get Piercing Shots instead. I also feel that I need to get a bit more critical chance as it is already at around 20% Frenzy supported by crit. chance gem but still it needs a bit more to be "reliable". I also need few health nodes on top of what I have.... So many needed passives, so little talent points. |
|
" hehe, thats how it goes, its a pain to figure out what you need first, i suggest you start alternating the heavy draw and life nodes, then go for crit, crit last. Also heavy draw node gives 40% phys and 6% attack speed for 6 points, its a really good trade off. I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/

I'm new and I'd like to avoid making a new thread, so I'll just ask here. Is there a reason most players are going elemental ranger? Are they superior? While looking at the passive tree, I saw the nodes that give life and mana leech from physical, so I planned going into a phys build, but most streams / forum threads I've read lately give the impression that ele is way more common (usually a sign of packing a greater punch or something similar).
Sorry for sidetracking your thread a bit. |
|
" No worries, as it stands now ele and physical are quite equal with these buffs to physical, but of course people go with the builds they did the most and that used to be superior, the ele ones. Fortunately physical now is just as good, a friend is using Lioneyes Glare unique physical bow on his elemental build and through conversion he does more damage than with a triple elemental thicket I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/ https://www.facebook.com/victorseicheart/ World first Uber Atziri as 2h and 2h RT build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1058950 Highest level char in Closed Beta, Wytchfindergeneral Last edited by VictorDoom#6290 on Jan 30, 2013, 4:22:28 PM

Good build man, gonna try it !
But before, what does IR and REZ means ? I couldn't find anywhere ! Thanks ! |
|
" IR is Iron Reflexes: bottom right of the passive tree. REZ I think is resistance. |
|
" Thanks man ! |
|
Do you use any links with your auras/totems/curses at all?

Hi victor,
Just wanna ask if unwavering stance keystone suitable for this build? Since IR depletes our evasion rating already to 5%, dodging is pretty useless then. thanks |
