Well, because I always go with the rule survival > DPS, shield is the way to go.
But since that item is so damn cheap, might as well buy 2 and give them a try.
You will out level those items anyway very soon.

For critical strike to apply to EK it either has to say "global critical strike" or "critical chance with spells".

Also the physical damage on your weapon only applies to the melee part of the weapon, not spells.

So basically your dagger has 80% crit chance and 25% mana regen. All the rest don't work.
