I think you should read again what I said.

I like it. Only thing is why don't you use chain or multiple projectiles at all? Also, why didn't you take the Mind Drinker notable? I actually want to try this build out, but I only have a 6L ES chest. Would you say this is a good alternative?

I also would rather link EK to:
1) Power charge on crit
2) Life leech
3) faster projectiles
4) faster casting
5) chain

No, it is not a good alternative :).

ES and EK with out Vaal Pact and Ghost Reaver is a BAD IDEA. But even with VP and GR you will be extremely weak. And you WILL one shot your self vs reflect. Specially with all those crit multipliers you took.

I wasn't aware that Mind Drinker works with spells. Does it? When did they change it?

Chain or GMP is used to create an AOE effect on your spells. EK is already an AOE, it fires 10 projectiles, so there for, Chain or GMP is not needed. Also the mana cost its huge.

There are just to many cons to use CI.

Simply not worth it.
