Custom Avatar Gallery 1 (updated 29th May, 2014)

Kind of odd that mine is up considering it's a "first draft" that I didn't approve and said was crap. Nevermind, at least I got an avatar in the end, even if it's a 2 second cutout of a photo I sent for reference stuck on a generic background instead of nice hand drawn art like the others.

A big part of why my sword didn't make 11.2 is because the art just wasn't what I wanted. It will not go in until I'm happy with it.

He sent me a "first draft" after a month of me following up. I said exactly what I said here, that it's a quick cutout of a photo that anyone could have done with a few minutes in photoshop, and that I was hoping for something drawn in similar style like the others. Considering the effort it's taken just to get this far just for the avatar, I dread to think what would happen if I tried to get a unique.

All I wanted was to see what my dog (he's called Willem) would look like drawn in the style of the other avatars, that was my entire motivation for upgrading to diamond. If I wanted a photo of him, well, I already have plenty.

Edit: And yeah, I emailed them just now when I noticed the avatar is up. It was quite a surprise given that I didn't get any sort of response since rejecting the first draft.

dude, sorry to hear that happened but agree you gotta push them to give you what you want. i had the same issues too at first when i first sent them photos of my kids for a drawing of. After 3 drafts of the kids idea, it got vetoed by my wife and I had george redraw my avatar from scratch.

I'm hoping all this turns out to just be an honest mistake on the part of George. I'd hate to be in MonstaMunch's shoes and was equally disappointed when my first draft of the avatar was just a photo I sent put through a photoshop filter.

But glad to see GGG looking to rectify this asap! :)

Seems it was just an honest mistake, though George isn't someone I've dealt with or had any contact with at all, so I assume it wasn't his mistake. Either way, these things happen and I'm glad it's being sorted out.
