Perz' Reave Shadow

I'll try that.

the swap put me ~11k dps with frenzy charges, if only i was already 6L to add in power charge or melee dmg :P

Just want to post in here to thank Perz for this build. It was a little shakey starting off, but I just got to level 66, and am rocking really well now. Just got up to about 10k dps still with mediocre gear and only a 4 link with no Carcass. I just got the Carcass yesterday, but it is still only 4 of 6 linked. After I secure an Alpha's Howl, I will be able to dump my currency into finishing that Carcass off with a 6L. (Got it for only 1 exalt as well for having a very low life roll, which means jack to em :P)

I am pretty excited to move into maps, and the only thing really bothering me right now is desync and freezing packs (til I get that Alpha's) but overall I am having a whole lot of fun with this. Thanks again!
So third time posting, hopefully I can get a response that will clarify some things that I've been wondering. First off, I wondered how someone would tackle before getting CI with the lack of life nodes? Second, would you not take Iron Reflexes or is the high evasion enough to dodge attacks. Third, I'm definitely not fulfilling the ES requirements with my gear, so maybe you guys can look over it?

Spoiler

Now obviously, I know I need to upgrade my belt for some energy shield, but it takes off STR which I need to wear gems like molten shell and enduring cry. Also, gone through a couple stacks of chroms trying to get a RRR on my gear. Which is why I feel like this build will be costly in currency trying to roll these, especially when trying to 5L-6L with Reave.

I'm very impressed with the DPS at my current level: 60 with 2.6K DPS with Hatred. My ES, being very low (I know) is 1.2k(1.9k with discipline). I've also noticed my resistance was very low when I switched to ES gear, so I have to use some rings to get them to 71%-75%.

I'm liking this build more than my ST scion. Would really like to see this in end-game which dying in Act 2 Merc. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone who is not extremely wealty/ON standard I highly recommend you do not do this build.

Myself and my friend are both currently hitting 60ish with our new shadows, and liquidated much of our networth to purchase/get the gear to make this work.

Meanwhile, one of our extremely wealth friends dropped about 50 DOmination exalts = about 150-200 exalts on standard, to acquire all the gear.

his thoughts within about 3 hours (he had about 15k dps, and 3k ES)
cant run 3 auras (which i figured out after reading many of you saying OMG I CANT RUN 3 AURAS) also, reflect rips it to shreds (perz warned this) but he said it goes OOM like crazy and that he cant see how it does higher maps than 68,

boss runs - yep pretty good
low maps w/o reflect -pretty good
but higher maps without the best of the best of the best gear - keep dreaming.

Now im sitting here after the last 2 weeks of liquidating and gathering the best stuff i can scratching my head. we'll see what happens but please dont go balls out trying to do this build.

actually phys reflect is no problem for this char. i explained that already in the first post. also i explained that you can only run 2 auras in 1.0.

do you know a char that can clear all kinds of high lvl maps without good equipment?

You guys are obviously doing something wrong. This isn't "no currency invested" build.
This is low cost build with outstanding DPS output and great surviveability.
It means, comparing to others, this is pretty cheap build.

What bothers people most:

1. OMG, I can't collect currency to buy that expensive alpha's howl helm (2EX)!
- stop complaining and spending hours in searching forum for cheap upgrades - just play the game - pick up every orb you find - trade alterations for jeweller's - than trade jeweller's for fusions - 40 fusions = 1 ex
- you can earn 2 ex in 10 hours - it means 4-5 days for CASUAL players

2. OMG, I can't find huge DPS claw!
- relax - no one can - find some decent and hope with time you will manage to find upgrade - that's what grinding gear games are about - improving your char step by step

3. OMG, why eye of chayula is must have item?
- "cannot be stunned" is important mod for any MELEE class - if you're stunned you can't deal damage - without dealing damage there is no life steal - without life steal your life/ES pool will eventually disappear

blah blah..FAQ.. blah..

I respecced to this build after not playing for months, from Invalesco's (I think that was his name) CI crit dagger build. I had a reasonable dagger, and a 5L pure ES chest armor (both of which I sold for a total of 2 exalts) and more or less mediocre gear besides that- with next to no currency saved up. I've put probably 30hrs into the character since then, and have had no trouble making this build very functional (and tons of fun) on Standard, and have not died yet. Even with still very mediocre gear, a lack of Chayula or Alpha Howl, and some old items that I need to replace (a belt with ele wep damage for former lightning striking), I'm still able to do 70 maps no problem at level 76. Now, I haven't run any super crazy mods- but why the hell would I until I get better gear? With a sufficient amount of life leech, physical damage reflect has not been an issue at all. The only map mods that have gotten me into trouble were -max resists on a +5 projectiles (I think thats what it was, anyway) map, because I just don't have the health pool or the immunity to stun and freeze to survive that much damage.

Currently, I'm sitting at ~4k ES with ~11k Reave DPS and ~38% dodge chance. Gear below:

Spoiler

(Note: The gems in the helmet are not the ones I generally use- was just fooling around before I logged out. I'm in the process of switching gems around after picking up the Carcass and Rainbowstride, and haven't yet gotten all my colors correct. It would normally be: Cast When Damage Taken - Enfeeble - Molten Shell - Enduring Cry)

With intelligent use of whirling blades to position myself correctly, and using flasks to break freeze effects, this is the most effortless build I have played so far- and this is, in fact, my highest level character. Just don't be a moron and you'll survive to get better gear just fine.

A little addendum to my above post to clarify, and further beat my point into the ground- If you think you're going to come into this build with 2 ex worth of gear and clear maps in 3 minutes, or facetank huge packs/Dominus- you're an idiot, and you're going to die because of it. Its like purchasing a "How to Play Basketball: By Michael Jordan" DVD and being pissed when you can't dunk over a 7 foot tall basketball player after watching it for the first time.

Play conservatively. Lure mobs away from big packs. Run some granite/resist flasks rather than 5 quicksilvers until you have better stats.

In general, just play smart. You don't get the luxury of steamrolling tough dungeons with ANY build, until you've put in the time to gear it correctly.

The videos are to show what the build can do with nearly ideal gear. Not to show what you can do as soon as you spec into it.
Someone could help?

I'm right now 67. 2,2k ES, 3,2 k dps with hatred, without 2,3k. 400 mana, 80 after reserved hatred and disciple. And i have BIG problems with mana. 2% from Mana Dinker is enough only vs. pack of weak moobs. What I whould to do? Any good node to heal my broken mana managment?

I would recommend upgrading your gloves to a pair with 2% physical damage to mana. You could swap either ring for this too, but your gloves seem to be pretty poor quality at the moment and probably the easier to upgrade.

Additionally getting a claw with a flat physical damage boost instead of fire would be a big difference as far as your life leech/mana leech go, as these only work with physical damage. Increasing damage will increase the amount you leech, both of mana and life, improving your mana and life management considerably.

edit: Also get a shield with higher ES. With this tree, your shield will give you something around 3-4x its ES value, so a HUGE amount of ES will come from your shield. Getting a 350 or so ES shield will kick you up around a thousand ES and make you way more survivable.
