Perz' Reave Shadow

what about "Bloodseeker Hellion's Paw"? or it is bad idea?)
Bloodseeker is an option but your dmg gets capped out really fast... it just has too low dps for end game

hmmm now i see why bloodseeker is getting hoard out
I'm here to ask the same thing..
I've been using this build for months...is doomed with the new patch? x_x
I got nerfed so bad....
GGG made me build a summoner.
That's quiet a big nerf to VP. I think those with high damage and IC on CWDT will still leech enough and survive reflect maps. Although those with leech problems due to low damage could get into trouble.
But we'll have to wait and see.

i think the only thing which will save those of us who can't get 50 ex worth of gear is increased ES.

I had already planned on picking up more ES nodes at respec anyway.

Clearly I cannot pick up 40% more ES but if I can get 25% more, that might be good enough.

It's also possible, but extremely unlikely that if your ES is high enough you will be better off _without_ VP.

Meanwhile whirling blades is still your friend for quick escapes when you get into trouble. oh yeah- unless you desync of course.

It's a testament to GGGs hatred and complete disregard of casual players that they continue to nerf abilities based on what the richest, most powerful players are doing, instead of what casual players are able to do.

This build is not OP in the least to those of us who don't have Perz's gear, and yet this was a major nerf.

BTW, the price of high damage claws is now going to be astronomical.

path of economy simulator indeed.

This is my favoritest, most funn build I have. oh well. bygones.

Unfortunately, that's not all. I'm currently playing around with the 1.1 skilltree...

This is the new location of VP

I know it wouldn't really be the same build anymore, but is it possible to go for a life build, skip Vaal Pact, and use LGOH? Would LGOH and the claws' leech (without VP) be enough for survivability? I never tried LGOH with Reave.
The issue here is the survivality that VP gives us which is the 1 second full life leech

maybe.

level 20 LoH is 44 pts. in a 1:1 situation it's useless. if you are attacking a mob it _might_work, but since GGG can't seem to clarify the new mechanics you can't count on it. But let's say your reave hits 10 things and you attack 3/s. So 10x44x3 = 1320/s. very respectable.

now let's look at standard leech. my so-overpowered-GGG-nerfed-it build is 3k ES. 3.7k with discipline. My max leech rate is therefore 3.7k x 0.2 = 740/s

let's say 3 aps at 2k/attack = 6k dps (remember we only leech from phy damage).

i can leech 740 ES/s max and i _think_ that the rate will continue, e.g. if i leech 1480 pts i will get 740 the first second and 740 the next second.

but when i had VP that was 6k x 0.15 = 900/s, applied instantly at each attack, or 300/attack.

Now it's 900x0.4 = 360/s, 120/attack. which means it matters not at all that it's applied instantly and is next to useless.

it looks like standard life leech is the way to go. I would need 30% leech to make up for the loss of the nerf to VP.

GGG needs to hire an experienced game designer. this nerf/buff/nerf/buff cycle they are trapped in demonstrates that they've really lost control of what they are doing.
