Why desync is fixable:
" I live in New Zealand. Every single game I have played online (with the exception of games with community servers, and PoE) has had bad ping. Ever tried hitting someone in Halo with a ping of 300? You can't. " A second behind means you have a ping of 500. Half a second behind means a ping of 250. Because of the round-trip. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" That is a matter of server availability. Halo probably hooks you on US servers and than it is shit. If you have a server next to you there won't be that problem. That is what i wrote before. " True, my fault. Doesn't change the fact that people are overreacting. With the actual server development probably only 5% of the players will experience a ping high enough that it will be bad. |

Most places hook you on US servers.
Whats more, unless you play solo in PoE, you often end up on 200/300ping servers, because everyone on the same instance is on the same server, so while I want the AU server, it might chuck me on EU and be terrible. But the lovely thing about PoE, is its not terrible. However if it was like online games with delay instead, it would be. Take for example D3. This uses set servers. If you are on the US server, you can't see/talk to/join/work with anyone from anywhere else. This means that every server has about the same ping because the only people on there are all using US servers. BUT it maens you are also delayed by such. Personally I like being able to talk to people from other countries in PoE, even play with them, without suffering hugely. You make Desync out like it is some terrible thing, I have very few problems with it, and don't get desynced very often. When I am its clear, and I can adapt. I believe there is a lot of ways they could improve resync based on information that the client can already see (attack an enemy and clearly didn't hit despite the aoe being right on them --> Enemy desynced, resync it), but you seem to be discounting many things. I have said playing with a ping IS noticeably bad. You seem to be of the opinion that "screw it, theres a server in the US, thats all that matters". I suspect you are from the US, because it seems to be an accepted thing there that you just treat everything as if it is just for the US and thats it, and don't take into account that other coutnries exist or may want to play aswell |

" Eh, what? No, i'm not from the US. I think that Desync IS a huge problem, not just because people die because of it. Read my first post again, it is explained there. The other stuff is something that can be fixed pretty easy (for example save the character on a general server and you can decide which server you want to play on with this character). That you won't be able to play with people of different countries is an argument, but for me (and i think many others) it is a price i'm willing to pay. " See, it is great that you don't have any significant problems with desync but when you look at the forums you should realize that quiet a lot of people have troubles. I have them for sure. And up to a point where it realy limits what I can do in this game. When I use a movement skill like cyclone I am guaranteed to end up in a place where I never intended to go. Cyclone is horrible in particular because sometimes my character just keeps spinning around to random nearby places without giving me the chance to cancel the skill. When I use a melee AoE skill like Ground Slam or Cleave it is often impossible to hit mobs that are supposed to be directly in front of me yet I hit stuff that's far away with the same attack. Sometimes even doing nothing but running around get's me teleported to random places (high movement speed and indoor maps like pyramides are drastically increasing the chance that this happens). Mobs that move fast also get often teleported far away from me or directly next to me (for example the stone elementals). And so on. Yes, of course I can avoid most of this. Don't use movement skills, don't play with high movement speed, don't enter indoor areas. Neither of this sounds very appealing, right? Desync is a terrible thing. Or at least I am experiencing it as something terrible. I understand that having a noticeable delay isn't great either. I have played games with high ping before. I guess everyone has. But if I had the chance to choose between desync and slightly delayed but predictable gameplay I wouldn't choose desync. |

I'll say it again. Apparently everyone has a difficult time absorbing this.
GGG designed this game with gesync on PURPOSE!!!!!!!!! They know EXACTLY what game mechanics to remove from game to rid of it Gesync forever. They REFUSE to do that because they WANT the mechanics that cause Gesync in the game. |

" That is a part of what i thought too. You can skill things that doesn't care much about positioning and such, but you really want to get restricted in a game like this, because of a bug? I say that i don't want this. My dream is that i die only because of MY failures and not some bugs in game and that i can make every skillbuild work, as long as my skill allowes it, and not like "I can't play this, because it is way too risky when i get desynct.". |
