About the MF, I disagree to a certain extent. This build has a potential for MF if you simply chose to go that way. You can easily equip a Gift From Above (This may be an Anarchy only unique tho) and drop Increased Crit Chance for 20/20 rarity, doubling your MF. Personally, I use low life discharger to farm lunaris 3 (4-5 Minutes runs selling everything at vendor) and once I farmed up 40-50 Chaos/Chisel, I spec out of Pain Attunment to spec into CI (and the 4 points behind it) to run 3-4 days of maps. Once I've ran out of 71-75's I use 5 regret to drop CI and go back to farming.
This is easily done equiping full MF with High level Clarity + BM + Red mana on life to drop Low life. 6L volls has to be RRBBBB to kick out Inc Crit (Chance or Dmg, depending on what you farm) and mana leech to put IIQ IIR Gems. I have a 3500 ES 260/70 MF with this set up and I have far from good gear.


The major issues are that as you said it yourself, you have to respec every time u want to switch Mf/maps to get the PA etc but even bigger problem is u would effectively have to chrom the Volls each time (to get one more RED for item quantity and then back to 1 green for leech)...which together can be rly huge money sink unless ure rich and dont care (in this case it would be better to have 2 6L Volls, one for MF and one for maps) which is for me impossibru since I am poor and dont even have 6L.
Btw I am using Gifts from Above too, once the anarchy ends it wont transfer to standard?

1. Missclick, will correct it after this answer. This point should of course not be taken.
2. You can take the frenzy charge on the right if you feel you lack DPS, but this build is all about Crit chance and decently high ES. It doesn't matter if you discharge with 7 or 15 total charges, as long as you crit, you will do damage. Remember that everything dealing damage above the max life of monsters is overkill and might kill you on reflect in higher level maps/content.

Two small gear issues.
Ok now instead of using defensive shield or second dagger/weapon, much better choice is something like this;

You'll get ES and desperately needed chc for spells. You can get ES even as high as 500 but thos things cost a lot ... 700 ES are "mirror service" gear only :)



Also, if you can afford I -definitely- recommend

It's ... pricey little thing, 4EX and up but damn well worth for our build. It gives both badly needed MF (because dischargers have usually too specialized gear to get high MF) and best general chc of all rings.

Yet that's for sure. Both items are very good. Ideal shield should be like yours with spell damage, but hey, not everyone has a mirror to spend :P. I thought about the ring for a long time but I finally decided to drop completely MF and go full mapping optimization, being able to run as many mods as possible, and to that extent, i decided to overcap my resists by 45 everywhere, which allow me to do elem weakness maps without fear :).

This is like a pretty-bad version of Kripp's Burning Discharger.

I'm afraid now with the changes (60% auras, shared-cooldown for multiple gems, cold to fire nerf/fix, and life boost while ES and CI just got nerfed during the last few months), it will be very difficult making a strong HC-viable Discharger. :(
Anyone knows if crit discharge build will be viable after patch ? Because I saw that Vaal pact is now really far away

You used 17 strenght points (life) and use CI to erase all this amount of life granted by these nods.

+ Strenght is useless for a discharger.

Is that possible to not use Vaal pact on a discharger ?
