Hi there i started a phys dagger ci build and your guide was my inspiration

MY HUG PROBLEM though is the build is kind of not working for me. I play ambush so i oviously dont have the wealth to have total uber gear

i do about 30 k damage with charges, have 3800 es with discipline max resistances but before i respect into ci i felt way more tanky with only 2500 life and did even more damage, since i was in the ranger tree for crits please help me
hey so was wondering. i got all passives for first bandit, now not sure what the optimal way to go is for 2nd bandit + 3rd bandit.

anyone got ideas?


edit: ALSO has anyone considered using increased area of effect instead of melee splash? how were the results? i suppose higher dps and perhaps better aoe?


edit: oh one more thing, dual legacy rainbow strides are really expensive, how is the new rainbows with 50 less mana, would it hurt if we used those? or would it not even make a diff, cuz spell block is most important right?

I would go phys dmg for the second bandit and the frenzy charge on the 3rd since we have a lot of crit chance already, the added frenzy would give us a buff to IAS and phys dmg. Not sure why you would be using melee splash. Reave is a built in aoe.

Update since a few days ago:

Tooltip dps for Reave standing in town (no buffs) : 30k. (huge improvement)
Chance to hit is up to 80% unbuffed
Crit is still low-ish.. 51.5% unbuffed ( i can have 5 power charges up though )

I do not die anymore in dungeons with my gear, and I'm always the first one opening the doors, casting 18/20 crit weakness, and 1 or 2 shotting mobs.

The only problem is I'm still using abyssus, so if I do not notice a physical reflect pack and I use reave... I'm dead since my dps goes up to around 90,000 reave when i have my power charges, frenzy charges, and onslaught buff on.

I also took PCoC out of my chest and replaced with Conc effect, much better in my opinion. It's still a low level gem (10 i think), but my dps went up like 20k when i put that in.

I now build my power charges off my lightning strike, then go ham with Reave when i have 3-5 PCs.

I need to improve my ES, its just over 5k with discipline buff.. still low. But there arent many affordable 6link 700+ ES chests on ambush (yet).. ideally i would like one with 850+ es and 3 red links, also hard to get.

I can see that once I am able to use another red gem (melee dmg on full life) my dps would easily reach probably 120-130k with buffs and charges up.

Also I am resist capped at 75/75/75..

Just looking for dagger/chest replacements now. I'm happy with everything else except for abyssus.

Would i be better off getting an ambusher with 2.0 APS, and 8.5-9.0 crit chance?
I would be losing pDPS on the dagger, but for reave, APS is more important right? i would be gaining .67 attacks per second, and 1.3% more crit chance on dagger if I bought this ambusher.
Thoughts?

yeaah but reave's aoe totally sucks :( clear speed vs single dps i guess?

after looking @ the tree more and comparing it with a lot of other builds, it feels kinda inefficient going across the entire tree grabbing abunch of intelligence nodes .... or is this actually the best way to do this?

im not a tree expert but i feel like i've been grabbing like 10 levels of just pure intelligence nodes before any useful passives lol.


also: do we need legacy rainbow strides?? like do i have to pay double for that 50mana?


ALSO would be sustaining blood rage nonstop? if so why don't we grab any frenzy passives?

Intelligence nodes arent that bad. 10 int = 2% ES + 5 mana, more than 1/3 of normal ES node. Strength and dexterity are mush weakers there.

You can also skip some int nodes, if you manage to get Vaal regalia with reduced requirements, or gear with some int on it. Reduced requirements isnt a useless stat for us, it can save you few nodes.

I can also help you to optimize your tree if you want.

Extra mana can be pretty useful, so legacy Rainbowstride are definetely better. However, you can use non-legacy as well.

We take no frenzy nodes because attack speed bonus from those isnt worth it. +5% AS for 3 nodes? WTFLOL! And +50% crit chance from power charge definetely wins, too. Frenzy nodes are flawed ATM, and useful only for Flicker Strike, Frenzy and Discharge - abilities, that take extra benefits of them. Oh, and for Blood Dance boots.

I am just following the tree OP posted with the shortcut to VP lol.

I grabbed extra frenzy from kraityn bandits, but felt like i shold've gone with extra powercharge?


that would boost our crit chance significantly no?


once again will try reave out or if i really hate it respec into a flicker CI for faster clearing and stuff.
@ajc813 you need pdps and crit chance, those are the most important stats for dps.

then you can consider the attackspeed.

power charge is way better for reave ofc
