You didn't buy the game. No one made you pay anything to play it. You obviously liked the game so you chose to support it.

You chose to support GGG, I commend you for that, but do not think for a second that your voluntary financial support of the game adds any more weight to your opinion on changes to the game than someone who has not paid anything to support it.

I would support GGG more (I've already bought a stash pack) but I can't currently due to other financial responsibilities (two small children). My word should be no less important than someone who has paid more to support GGG.

You haven't paid PoE, you just supported his development

I paid to support its development, though I don't think its all that relevant to the point I was making, which is that RL logos break the illusion of being in a magical fantasy world, and that's an illusion that the team at GGG has worked very hard to create in the first place.

Lets look at it another way: How would you feel about the PoE logo as a footprint micro transaction? I mean clearly the art fits in with the game, it was made by the same people. I personally would hate it, for the exact same reason that I hate the razer logo being there.

What would have been awesome is if this had been done the other way around. I'd have paid shitloads for a Razer Blade covered in PoE art.

What on earth? When did I say my support for the game means my opinion should be worth anymore? That's not what I said, or even what I implied.

What I said is that when you pay for a game, you usually don't have to put up with in game ads. It's usually one or the other, you pay and have no ads, or you get it for free and get spammed. My point wasn't that having paid money means my opinion is worth any more than yours. My point was that they already covered their costs from me, so they don't need to spam me with advertising. It's pretty much an industry standard at this point.

Well the illusion is NOBODY is roleplaying this game. Well almost nobody for practical purposes if the General Discussion forums are taken as the standard.

Frankly having a PoE footprint is ok because it also says something about the person playing. It says they like and support the product.

Paying $1000 to support the development does need to be recognized but no one person is an Island. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet.

I think you misunderstood. I don't care about my financial contribution to this game (which btw is more than $1k, that's just the bit that you see, though again, it's irrelevant).

I could just as easily have spent $10 and the point would still stand: You either pay money and don't have to see ads, or you get it for free and you do have to see ads. That's the model that the industry has been adopting, and it makes sense.

I have never said or implied that my opinion should be worth any more than anyone else's. In fact there have been numerous threads where I've called people out for doing exactly that. My statement was that people who contribute financially shouldn't have to put up with ads in game. It was my opinion, it was rational, and I'm entitled to state it.

You sound like you think I shouldn't be allowed to give an opinion simply because I bought some irrelevant kiwi pet. I don't care about it, it's not relevant to my point.

I believe the point of this poll is showing that it's not just one person that finds this to be a problem. I would not single out MonstaMunch, especially given that you can see other people in this very thread that agree with him.

I could understand this thread, if the logo was god-awfull and had "BUY RAZER STUFF TODAY" in it. But as it is, it's no other then other footprints effect's.

What wrong with GGG implementing voice chat? What wrong with them getting connection with other company's and giving yet another thing away for free?

I fail to understand what separates these footprints from the other ones.

Can we have a "I approve of the corporate alliance to further the development potential of the game, but think the footprints themselves look derpy as hell"?

Otherwise, list me as approximately "meh"
