Man, me and my friend want the effect just to have but neither of us want to bother with installing that Comms software to register an account and then uninstall the software. If someone could provide some steps to get it without needing to download the software that would be nice.

What you fail to grasp are the intricacies of the situation beyond "Moar monies = BETTER!". If putting product placement in the game annoys the supporter base, those supporters will feel less inclined to donate.
There is nothing more intricate here than self righteous fools exercising their bitch muscles. Path of Exile is not rife with blatant product placement, and never will be. There is a single promotional brand image that was tactfully added to the game as to not be blatant. Insisting otherwise does not make the entire premise of this thread's debate any less of a logical fallacy.
I have never insisted otherwise. Name one thing that I wrote that is not factual.
You made a point the temperament of the supporter base, and, specifically, I was replying to that comment. People are making illogical leaps, and assuming there is a threat where currently there is none. I appreciate a healthy amount of cynicism, and it is good to let GGG know that we are concerned about future product placement, but this thread is so much more than just that. There's more going on here than a healthy amount of cynicism...
...and the pursuant backlash is firmly rooted in fallacy. That's pretty fucking weak.

WTF is wrong with you people? it's a fucking optional Microtransaction that GGG partnered into most likely to obtain a deal on the service. They needed to obtain a deal on the service because they are a small studio.
GROW UP. GGG isn't some group of teenagers in a garage making angry music, they are a company with their lives on the line and they want to be successful. How about we actually give them credit for trying to make the game better - rather than pissing all over them.

And yes, if PizzaHut wants to partner with GGG they'd be morons not to take the deal, and if you can't understand that fact then you have 0 grasp on how the real world actually works.
This post is why this game is screwed. Fanboys of this caliber sink their teeth in and slowly destroy every indie F2P that has been released. Its such a shame.
By the way. Chris already said that he has turned down many other deals. I find it odd that your such a fanboy, but also think GGG are morons.
I'm a fanboy and an idiot because I understand that GGG is a business? Glad to be an idiot and a fanboy then.
Yes, Chris turned down other deals because he felt they weren't right for PoE. Not sure how that has anything to do with this because obviously in this case he felt it was right for PoE.

you realize you're just like the d3 fanboys right? nothing GGG will ever do will be wrong in your eyes, i feel sorry for you
anyone with half a brain knows that this was a stupid thing to do, you need to step back yourself and get a reality check. i thought PoE was supposed to be the 'hardcore/brutal/etc' action rpg? now have have advertisements in-game?
but like i said, anything GGG ever decides to do, you won't put any thought into and will instantly attack anyone who has a different opinion than you. that is what makes great games though i must admit, going down a one way path and never admitting to your mistakes!
Read my comments about what I think about PoE (because you obviously haven't) - I think their crafting system is horrible, I think the drop rates are way to skewed, I think the RNG is out of whack, I hate ID scrolls and find them superfluous.
But do you know what I do understand? That GGG is a company, companies need to make money, making money is possible by collaborative efforts like this. This has nothing to do with opinion, it has everything to do with business - that is, money and money is the blood that keeps businesses alive.

I see no option to remove ads from my gameplay. It is not optional for the viewers of the ad, it is optional for the displayers of the ad.

That's rather the point. The less it looks like a recognizable logo, the more acceptable it is from an immersion and aesthetics perspective and the less effective the advertising is for Razer.
If they want to make it so that you don't have to see the green footprints so be it, that wasn't my point.

If you want to leave the game because of some green footprints - I don't think you were really going to support the game much anyways. Also, if GGG acts in fear over the possible player-base reaction, they'd never be able to make a call on anything.
