Why did they call it razer? I didn't think it was possible to shave your face with a snake. *Looks down* "We've partnered with Razer..." Uh-oh This leaves a pretty bad taste in the mouth. In-game advertising, ugh. Not what I would call an ethical microtransaction. I know that here ethical only means "not P2W", but if I was forced to choose, I'd take P2W over in-game advertising any day. Even if I never actually see anyone using it, just knowing that it exists pisses me off. Please tell me this is a one-off thing. " Indeed. Let's hope it doesn't get any worse. |

Coke Cola bought a ruler of wraeclast title. Brace yourselves for the coke-drinking polar bear pet!
Seriously, i want that :) |

Although the visual of the logo does not seem so out of place in my opinion (but would have been better as an aura) and partnership is perfectly understandable and acceptable, i think it would be better if advertisements were displayed on website instead of in-game.
I will give it a try anyway. |

Congratulations to GGG for their new partnership.
As many of us, I already use another voice chat software, but a semi-official solution could be helpful to a lot of players. Regarding the footprints, I can't see how it could be that annoying (and I really don't like ingame advertisings). It's far from a permanent billboard or some pesky popups, fully optional, only visible in town and/or on specific party members (and probably R**** fans as well) - and I have to agree: the snakes logo is more «compatible» than some fancy video card or some fastfood trademarks. I'd prefer considering it provides PoE a better visibility, more popularity and more success, so we all benefit from that kind of partnership with a better game. Anyway, GGG may have some loud ringing in their ears with all the different opinions ^_^ We should wait to see how it goes in game after a few days. God dammit. You are destroying the awesome feel of the game with bullshit microtransactions. You are no longer entitled to claim that you can't implement certain microtransactions because of lore etc.

" +1 Ah, it's quite hilarious to sit back and watch the preteen angst erupt on the forums. |

I went and downloaded the chat whatever and then redeemed the code. For 2 reasons.
1) I don't think that it's unreasonable that GGG could be getting some sort of dollar amount for each chat system downloaded. If that's the case then Razer is helping support GGG. A company that creates a game that I love. 2) I want to check out a FREE MT. Maybe I'll purchase some at a later time if I like them enough. I think it'd be sweet if the footprints ended up being 3 snakes instead, but this is what we've got. I'm sure there are very few PoE users that don't know what Razer is. But I'm sure there are a TON of Razer users who don't have any idea what PoE is. It's a great trade off. The game need exposure, so hopefully it helps GGG in the long run. For a disclaimer, I do own Razer products. BUT! I would be perfectly fine if they would've partnered with SteelSeries, Logi, etc. I think partnering with Coke to get a Polar Bear pet would be funny. You could partner with Monster/Mountain Dew for flask skins (which I think would be great. Not because I like Monster, but they would be personal AND they wouldn't interfere with others gaming experience. As well as the added benefit of there being multiple colors/flavors.) There are a ton of options to do subtle advertising. These footprints are a little more in your face than I'd like. But it doesn't bother me too much. IGN: HChawk
