0.11.4 Skill Details: Reave

Looking forward to this being added, but i would love to see some changes to the shadow passive area, mainly for claws.

I'd like Spirit Raker changed, remove the +20 Energy Shield, but add "Life Leech from Claws applies instantly"

This would allow a multitude of builds to appear which would favour melee that choose to go armour/evasion or ci.

Rather than the only option being Vaal Pact which is for CI. Some protection verses physical reflect as a melee would be nice. As pretty much anyone and everyone that goes CI as melee gets Ghost Reaver and Vaal Pact.

This would just allow claws more flexibility which is something they lack currently.

I don't think the increased AoE buff should be removed by using a different skill. I've always wanted to make a character that was similar to a Monk in Diablo 3 that uses Fists of Thunder with the rune Thunderclap in PoE, and this skill would've been perfect for that if it wasn't for the buff being removed by using a separate skill. It would be so much fun to be able to use this skill along with Flicker Strike to teleport between packs of mobs and bash them with your claws.

Still looks like a neat ability though either way!
Now we need a single DPS skill for daggers/claws specifically so I don't wind up vendoring em anytime I get them. :D
"Do or do not, there is no try."
Looks cool, now we just need more axe and staff gems.

Not to bee too critical but:

a) Why do skill that makes the game more monotonous with giving a bonus to player if he sticks with one skill?
I'm really not sure this is a negative. For one thing, the tactic of focusing on one skill nigh-exclusively is already thoroughly used in the game. For another, Reave creates a tactical choice of when / if you switch skills. Do I interrupt my Reave chain to refresh my Frenzy charges or is the increased AoE still worth more to me than the attack speed? Do I bother to refresh that curse?

Well said man.

Idk man, that seems a bit too OP to have Vaal Pact for Claws and Phys Life Leech for claws in the same passive...also what about the downside to Vaal Pact?

Mainly because there's no real reason to use claws over dagger specially in the later levels.

Because life leach is capped at 20% of your life per second, which you very easily get later on due to the much higher damage you can do.

Most builds I've seen with a shadow/ranger/witch that go for life max out at appox 3,700 life. 20% of that per second is 820 life/second, to get that you'd only need around 10,000 DPS and 8% Leech which is an absolute doddle for a dagger build to obtain in the later levels.

As it stands the primary difference is dagger for crit, claw for leech, but when you get 70+ the benefit of claw is rapidly out paced by the damage you can get with daggers.

If Spirit Raker were to offer the instant leech portion of Vaal Pact but would only apply to leech from Claws specifically then you would give someone a reason to stick with claws. I see no difference between VP and Leech in the same passive block and having multiple ES nodes after CI.

Y'know this dude has a sound point, but an outright instant leech effect is still too op for that choice. However, merely doubling the leech rate would still add incentive to choose claws over daggers. Raising that cap with claws from 20% to 40 - 50% per second would serve the same purpose. :3
This sounds a lot like a terrible version of cleave.
as long as it hits with both weapons at the same time it should be ok.

"Getting all life nods on passive tree should give additional survival, not the mandatory basic survival."
