Why I will NOT buy a supporter pack or buy from the shop
" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_bias You rarely hear from the people who aren't getting frustrated with desync because they're busy playing the game instead of bitching on the forums/in global. That's not to say that desync isn't a problem, because it is a problem. But the proportions of the problem are significantly overhyped based on what I've experienced and also what I've observed from players on stream blaming things like stuns and freezes on desync. |

Re: the OP.
It sounds like you like PoE, and continue to play it. It does have some problems, but over-all it is really good and worth your time to play. Why aren't you prepared to give money to the developers over one bad thing? Is it because you'd rather spend your money on a worse game which doesn't have desync? Every game has good sides and bad sides. If you're still playing PoE instead of a different game, it's probably because you think PoE is better than that game, even with desync. If you really think PoE is turned into a bad game just because of desync, then my advice is to find a game you enjoy more! Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

I am not telling anyone they shouldn't support the game by buying supporter packs or stuff from the shop. I am simply giving my feedback on why I will not do so. If they should get the flaws ironed out, I will go ahead and buy things from them as long as it isn't so far into the future that I am no longer interested in this game.

" Also the topic title is "Why I will not" instead of "Why I have not." The former is more of an exhortation, the latter is an explanation. |
|
" I guess if you are easily influenced by things strangers say, you might read it that way. I did not e-mail GGG on this subject because this is my feedback on the beta, so I posted in the appropriate forum. I love the game, but stability is worth a lot to me. Provide a more stable game and I will provide you with money. Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

To the OP: I've stated on the forums a while back that I wouldn't give GGG another penny until they fixed desync, and that was before I bought my OB supporter pack. Ask yourself this: If everyone that hated desync as much as me all decided to not financially support GGG, what are the odds that desync will ever get fixed? It wouldn't.
While I more than relate to your frustration, you simply cannot have that attitude towards the game. It gets neither you nor the game anywhere. And also, why would you support the game when they fix desync? You would be playing an almost perfect game (besides obvious other issues) and haven't spent a penny on it, so why bother at that point? |
|
" Oh, I can definitely have that attitude towards the game and I can play it for free for an hour here and there. I already play the game a lot less than I play the forums currently and have more fun doing so. Personally, I don't give a shit about the balance issues or anything else. I just want to have the ability to play without getting fucked over by a surprise desync attack. Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Well then, have fun lurking the forums and QQ'ing about desync in a f2p game that you refuse to financially support to help fix desync. GG

They have enough support to fix desync and have been working on this game for what... 6 years?
