" Nothing changed in that regard. That said, in spite what you can sometimes read, CI is the harder route because you need good ES gear before you can switch to CI. That gear is hard to come by: you need to be lucky or spend quite a bit of currency. Life was buffed in the release version of the game (since October) and it is also substantially easier to get decent life gear, in my experience. Case in point, my self found summoner was meant to get CI, but by 74, I dumped all her respec points and 35 regrets on her to change her into a life build, because in about 500 hours since release across multiple characters, I was not able to get ES gear that was good enough. Life gear, in the meantime, dropped all over the place. MF is theoretically harder with a life build, because you need to fit chaos resist on your gear, too, and perhaps armor (not really if you use Arctic Armor and a Cloak of Defiance), but it's practically not as relevant as it may seem, again: in my experience. Plus, you can always switch later on. Including a Book of Reform, the change over costs are about 50-55 points (in regrets or refund points). Personally, I'd recommend a life build (either the one here in Rathik's guide or DonaldF's, both of which are largely identical anyway), especially if you are somewhat new or don't want to relay on trading, but either approach is perfectly viable. This also makes leveling much easier. | |
Hi summoners, I read the last opinions of last patch and i have some questions:
1. What is the best gems combination with desecrate and flesh offering? What do you remove spectres or arc to do a nice 4l with this gems? 2. With life leech and high minion life we can remove minion instability? |

So i just hit Lvl 75 and must say this build has been one of the most fun i have played in a while. I feel unstoppable.(although I do die every now and again)
Question: How do I get my ES higher/improve my build? I am still scared to move to CI lol. Linked are my current gears. Use tabula to snapshot as best I can. Still need MIdnight Bargains and Mon'tregul's Grasp and BOR. Gear:

Items i have for snapshot so far:

Does it help to put on Face-breakers when summoning zombies? Do they keep the unarmed bonus once I take them off in town? Same for +50% spell dmg for the BMs from gloves? Passives: Last edited by Daabeast#3941 on Feb 3, 2014, 12:48:27 AM

mods/affixes only apply if theres some "adds x to minions y" on them (or something along those lines... there are 2 or 3 exceptions, leer cast for instance)
i was right with focussing on the shield instead of trying to get a higher ES chest with i have 7755 ES, and the last 2 aura nodes ("mana reservation" and "charisma") should boost this even further. i dont really feel the need to boost rarity, every map boss drops from 3-8 rares and i have to stop in town at least twice a map to vendor all rares... its just the right mix between "woot! a rare!" and "goddamn this is tedious" why take ALL mana clusters? since the "raise zombie" gem takes its sweet time to get to lvl 20 i need additional resists for my minions (adding purity as 3rd aura). when its 20, i will replace it with haste, i think, running 3 auras on mana. to re-cast a zombie i will have to turn off an aura, but what gives... as long as there is enough mana to curse... " Getting high ES is not difficult, esp with all the es nodes you get in this build. Have at least 500 on your chest. Buy a 5L 6S Vaal Regalia white (1ex), qual it to 20, then alch/chaos it till 500+ es and 2 resists. Usually takes around 20 co to get there. You can stop at 400+good resists to start off with, and use discipline aura to make up the difference. The next place to easily get lots of ES is shield and helmet. I got a 250es 26% rarity helm with no resists for 3co. Then get an archon kite shield with 200+ es. Boots will either be ullr, goldwyrm, or ES boots with rarity+resists. I just recently dropped my ullr for 140es + resists and rarity boots and am happy with the change. Gloves should always be sadimas. With a setup like that I am at 5k es without disc, almost 7k with it. Shield boots and helmet were all under 8co each, most expensive pc of gear is my 5l vaals which was 1ex white and around 15co to get it to 560es+2 resists. So overall about 2ex worth of gear to have me running 70-72 maps solo and p to 74 in groups. You can double that es once you get rich, and summoner is a great farming character. With BMs piety dies in about 10 seconds and takes 2-5m to get to her depending on layout. I clear most maps in about 10mins solo, tho I prefer partying for 70+ maps. I have a buddy who runs a 5 aura support build, grace anger and all 3 resist auras, while I run purity, hatred, and vitality. The results are quite amazing. Im probably going to switch my weapon to RGB and use increased duration, flesh offering, and rejuv totem instead of my current setup and just drop enfeeble into my ulinked extra blue socket in my chest for more minion pwnage. Seeing that solo dom run I think rejuv totem would be awesome on top of new minion passives and vitality to keep my BMs alive. Last edited by kuromahou#7517 on Feb 3, 2014, 3:29:42 AM
