0.9.11 One-week Hardcore Ladder Race

Great race, guys! Learned so much. It's only unfortunate it took 3 deaths to learn it!

Deaths (2H ground slam Mara):
1) Cruel Prisoner's gate to spark goatmen and a rare pack of hellions. To survive Brutus only to be killed by goatmen! <shakes head>

2) Lev 55: merciless vaal. Watch for falling rocks :'( Just didn't have enough HP, damage reduction (2.4k life 41% DR) and got hit by 2 rocks in a row.

3) Lev 47: ruthless vaal. Note to self: run far off to the side and down the stairs to re-open your town portal!... zapped to death by off-screen lazors.

My 4th char a lightning strike, high block templar lived to the end of the race. Made it to ruthless Vaal with 10 mins to go but didn't risk fighting him- farmed waterfall L2 instead.

My character "Get_Good" is still under the 1 week league and has not been transferred to normal HC. I currently cannot play him and do not see any rewards. My normal-HC also does not have my 1week stash converted to removable tabs yet. Please help! Thanks!

edit: found my rewards (derp) but as others have mentioned our characters still haven't been transferred or are playable!

I also can't access my event character, assuming they just haven't been transfered yet?

Mine still states he's on the 1Week HC Ladder, so I would say yes.

well, I really did not want to play this time...

The last race was first enough (2 weeks to mutch^^)

so i decided only to take a look..

I created a char .. because I wanted to make a new so

why not this 1 week Race...

ok you can probably imagine what happened next....


it was a lot of Fun... thank everyone who played...

maybe next time, a race weekend would be enough^^

This has been quite the race. I wasn't even sure I was going to participate, but somehow 30 minutes before decided to go for it. It started at 2 am local time and what was supposed to be a few hours to see how I measure in a 3 hour type race turned into ~16 hour chase after Fayded who took an early level lead and never looked back. I managed getting first to enter on some key areas which lead to first contact between us.

I thought I put up good effort on the first day, but it was dwarfed next to Fayded's first day which was a whooping ~30 hours. I ended up chasing him the entire week, all the more impressive seeing how he never even had a character in merciless before participating in this event.

In the second part of the week I was beginning to catch up, mostly due to me being more familiar with the end game. If it weren't for that I don't know if I had any hope. However as it was it turned out to be a fairly well matched rivalry between us with each pushing the other to go harder, and on top of that we got on good relations, and overall had good times. My favorite part was when I ended up #2 and had to escape "the curse of #2" (throughout the race countless people in #2 died).

After grinding mercilessly for most of the week, with the end result yet unclear, we have reached an agreement together that the only proper way for us to end this epic race was in a tie. I think in our own way, we both got the better end of the deal. It was a mutual respect for a worthy adversary that made us uncertain of our ability to beat the other. Also, winning would've been bittersweet by then, knowing the effort the other put in. We've thus came to the conclusion that the only proper finish for us would be a tie.


Major props to GGG who pulled up and was willing to split the prize between us. We were expecting the act to be purely symbolic with one player receiving credit for #1 and the other settling for #2's prize. Way to go GGG. =)

Got 25th, bit hard to keep up with the top 20 while going to university :/ Still, I had fun and this is the highest I've ever gotten on a character. Just waiting for my account to be transferred to normal HC so I can keep going!

Had a blast and learned a lot as this was my first real HC experience in PoE. Bootstrapped my 3rd and final toon to level 56 after dieing at 16 and then again at 40. Almost didn't restart after that one but glad I did as my progression was much faster, and yet safer, with what I had learned and acquired to that point. Was also fun to see the rivalry at the top. Can't wait for the next one!
