Unique Item List - 300 of 419
" IF that info is up to date you seem to have 4 options now (this new unique, res aura, aegis and resist gem) and you have to choose 2 to max out zombie resists. Seems OK for me - a summoner who wants to use a different support can now do it even without aegis (and still keep max res zombies) :) Proud 5th duelist in the Jul 1 2012 Ladder Race and in the Nov 3 2012 Solo Turbo Race :D

" SQUEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Now seriously, I really dig the items that have been made, and I look forward to more. Oh and Laz, congratulations on a good connection and your new job, much belated. | |
" wow thanks :D *edit* I'm a bit confused by the +500 HP on Montreals grasp though. Is minion HP calculated weirdly (like skeletons in D2) so that +500 base HP ends up being like 3k or something? I'm guessing minion passives and support gems increase that +500 at least. Last edited by Asmosis on Sep 13, 2013, 11:26:43 AM

" Yes they do, but check one or two pages back in this topic - someone did the math and came to the conclusion that those 500 aren't that great. Proud 5th duelist in the Jul 1 2012 Ladder Race and in the Nov 3 2012 Solo Turbo Race :D

Yeah, it's not intensely amazing. Good, but that's about it.

it is by no means optimized build - i went point-by-point with no real idea except one: this build will NOT be spectre-based. gear highlights
Spoiler
this is the go-to shield when I finally get stable dexterity level - life leech beats all that armor etc and saves a gem slot - i have only 4Link items so no luxury of spare sockets verdict on new mace: i do not think that build with 3 zombies is viable. it is quite easy for them to be surrounded and surrounded zombie is a dead zombie (pun..). on the other hand 5 zombie build might be very interesting but from what i see it is easy achievable only by witch. will try that sometime. pros: - capped resists without a gem - infernal blow on a rare/blue monster: carnage - less zombies, less crowd -> better navigation in crypt/dungeon type maps. less wasted dps as it is easy to make space for 4 zombies at target - easier life managements with pots 'of Animation' - did some runs and had no zombie die while previously it happened. note that i use lvl 17 or 18 gem with mediocre quality etc (this is mostly self found stuff of mid-level quality) cons: - less zombies. smaller meat wall. skeletons are now mandatory vs charging enemies and heavy hitters in general - one less spectre vs Midnight Bargain. I always use throw-away spectres but these are powerful even if chosen randomly. Bones are more or less mandatory as 3 zombies are not enough. you need 4 big ones - infernal blow sounds exactly like dying zombie with minion instability. makes me do extra checks if zombies.count==zombies.MAXCOUNT. it is a minor but still mental strain that is noticeable in general - one of the best designed, not overpowered but powerful and effective items in this game so far. any summoner should at least try playing with one. FUN! SNAPSHOTING cast zombies using new mace, swap weapons cast remaining zombies. big ones remain with their infernal blow and size. i hope that they sort this stuff out some day. " I don't think you overpaid, thats a good price for it atm. " I use 4 zombies and with my build they survive better than they did when I used 9. I won't go for 5 zombies since I won't give up my shield. " Agreed " They probably will so I don't think I will mess with it. The big zombies retain all of their abilities? Standard Forever

yes, old zombies keep their skills (cant tell if they keep stats) - infernal blow works perfectly with snapshoted zombies
further testing: - you ofc summon zombies with this (i have lvl 16 but cannot find it right now). it is better than any other dmg-related support in practice. other two are melee splash and ofc multistrike. i do not do the ele-prolif+fire dmg stuff another thing - im not sure but i think that 'big' zombies are a little bigger - they navigate corridors much better but from time to time stand next to enemy and not attack ( it is not desync issue, i /oos like a boss). i think that big-zombie hitbox might be too large compared to melee range it has vs some monsters. it doesnt happen often, but noticed it and can notice that it happens reliably. never had such issue with small-zombies ill keep using midnight bargain in open maps (or in fact - will do the snapshot trick to have 9 zombies) - had too many close calls with 4zombies+3spectres in cementary-like maps for comfort splash size of zombies' infernal blow is quite small so for some monsters (golems and in general big stuff) it does not work that well. dont have 5L to test with incAOE gem. as for the price - it seems that price of this item is collapsing rapidly, in a week it should be sub-ex item. on the other hand i got 30% (max) resist roll so maybe this item will hold value after all (not that i care much :)) another con: gems like 'added lightning/chaos dmg' have their effectiveness cut in half (due to 50% less zombies) dmg adding auras also are much less appealing due to same reason Last edited by sidtherat on Sep 15, 2013, 3:32:04 AM
