So I was able to get 2k HP and 700 ES.. it seems like my survivability has gone WAY up. I mean, obviously I have more health, but I seem to take way less damage (per hit). I didn't increase my armor/evasion, just my HP.

Is it just my imagination or is there a hidden mechanic at work here?

You are keying in on another aspect I have been talking about but is just now being realized. HP > all. When I say not many defenses, what I really mean is no wasting resources to get super high DR from armor or evade from high evasion numbers. Helpful, yes. Critical? No.

Again, in order of importance:

1. HP
2. Resists (have rings/ammy available to swap out per map/zone depending on ele resist needed)
3. Energy Shield
4. Armor
5. Evasion if its there.

This is the kind of ring I go after. ele dmg + mf + res = $$$ (cost to make endgame & its final worth)

Quivers are....odd. They report latent dps as being YER STRONG. But, if its crit dmg cranking dps up, it will be a false report if you never crit. This is why I like dps I KNOW is always available. WPN ele % + Light/Cold Crit Chance Stun Duration Projectile Speed

I mean not using any support that will lower its damage. This is an effective way to 5l LA.

Ele Equi is an oddly powerful Keystone. The kicker is that you have to manage what elemental damage is on your gear for it to work. If Lightning/Fire/Ice hit everytime, nothing happens. Now, if you can tailor your gear a specific way and establish a rotation of attacks EE can be unleashed.

I havent tested this since the introduction of the elemental penetration supports & the Flammability/Conductivity/Frostbite curses. The right combination would give around -80% or so (rough estimate) to a specific element. This would be very strong.

Here is the kicker tho.. if you stack Lightning Damage from gear, your main attacks would now need to be Fire/Ice. Or Fire from gear then Light/Ice etc. You would want a full coverage aoe attack like Ice Shot + Chain + DH to hit the mobs. EE would reduce the Fire and Lightning resists of the mobs hit with Ice Shot to -50 each. Your Lightning Arrow and next fire based attack would hit very hard. However, the dps of LA would obviously be much less from the lack of any added Lightning damage. Which is better? Does your brain hurt yet?

This might be a good choice for a templar/mara with gear issues. I ran with EE & the 92 point shadow build but my gear wasnt optimal. The results were intriguing but I have yet to revisit it.

And since I wrote this much that means Im theorycrafting as I type & Ill probably try EE soon :P
