The Ultimate Melee DPS/TANK [FACEBREAKER ONSLAUGHT GUIDE]

You are wrong, the 18% physical is calculated seperately, and is thus far superior to the attack speed reward.

Thanks for that information.

Can you say how much impcat 18% physical damage has over 8% AS? on an average base?

Its not that big of a difference i am sure, on tooltip dps, most ppl (including me) prefer raw dmg over attack speed, unless the attack speed boost is something massive.

you should calculate it

(average of total of base x-x unarmed physical damage) x (attacks per second) x (more multiplier on fb) x (all increased physical%) x (attack's damage effectiveness) x (melee physical damage gem more multiplier) = physical dps

oh and attack speed for unarmed build = 1.2 aps x (1+ all % increases/100) x (1+multistrike more multiplier/100)%

You are wrong.

The increased physical damage from Oak is added together with increased physical damage from gear, strength and probably nodes too.

I have done thorough damage testing with spell damage, physical damage and projectile damage. And I know for a fact that the 18% from Oak is added into the overall damage multiplier. So it's not MORE, it's increased. Therefore if you stack enough increased damage, the attack speed could actually be better.
Heya, which shield would you prefer for this build?

I'm trying to make up my mind before I hit 70.

On one hand, I could really use the res. But I don't know how much of a difference the added 5% block chance on the lioneye's will affect me. Also, keep in mind that it's still possible for me to get two suffixes on the rare. Like dual 45 res.

I would exalt the rare, then I would use it. :-)

5% block, 26 life vs 14% all res 5% MS. Depends on your other gear what you need. But once you exalt it and get some more res or block it will be better. You have 2 spots left for suffixes so it's a pretty good chance to roll additional resistances or block.

Cool, I was leaning towards the rare as well. Because honestly, I'm finding it hard to go over the resistance cap. I think I'll just be around 10 over the cap when I'm leveled instead of a preferable 30-40. :(
I started this build yesterday on HC, and i got to level 34 but I'm still using Cleave for now.
I took the Blood Magic passive and run Anger atm.

I'm not sure what to do now? Should I switch to Cyclone at this level already? Which support gems should I use with it then now at this moment? Which auras should I run? Should I already use facebreaker + shield? Or dual wield? Or 1h+shield?

Thanks..

It depends on your items. If you have meginord, physical jewellery - then yes use facebreaker + shield with cyclone now. Link cyclone with reduced mana and Life leech for now. Use only grace.

When you get to merciless or cruel act 3 - switch to blood magic gem and link cyclone with BM gem + Life leech + melee damage / faster attacks. Use determination, purity and hatred + grace.

You can also use a 2 hand leap slam and just jump til merciless. Doesn't really matter. It depends on your preference and items - no point in trying to min/max in cruel.

Hello, I'm using your build and it is really great. However, I am having difficulty maintaining all the auras, I tried to increase my mana pool, but it is useless... Any suggestions?
