The problem with IR is not that it gives too much armour (which is what your suggestion seems to be trying to solve), its that it lets EV pretend to be AR in the first place, devaluing the choice to go AR itself. Your suggestion only rebalances the numbers, it solves nothing of the problem incentivizing the use of one defense over another; pure EV could still be used to grant AR without investment into AR nodes or gear, just as before. Only with your suggestion the opposite could also be true. My counter proposal on the other hand--to give EV a DR similar but different to AR's, incentivizes the use of each: pure AR, AR/EV hybrid, and pure EV, without making any one option purely better than the others in every circumstance. 0.11.4 addressed the aura exploits issue that I had mentioned; I updated the section. One down, many to go, and I'll stay hopeful. Maybe someday I'll get an in-depth dev response. |

Good read. I dont agree on some of the passive and some of the uniques but I do agree with probably 90% of what you posted. I as well hope GGG take some of this to heart. You nailed it right on with a lot of the new uniques (or gen 2 as I think of them). While not the absolute BiS they are pretty close with enough bonus to make them worth BiS prices.
Some things I dont agree with... Ghost Reaver... maybe it could use a 50% nerf for spells but I personally believe it should still work with spells. Eye of Chayula... not OP.. I've considered using it but the low stats on it have kept my from switching so far. I prefer having close to +40 other stats.. without them I couldnt use most of my green/red gems on my casters. Personally I stupidly hate the stun mechanic tho. I dont think my Evasion characters and ES characters have died to any other mechanic even half as much as stun. Axuim (sp?) belt... I dont use it but I dont think its OP at all either. I use Dream Fragments instead for freeze resistance. IGN: DeathIsMyBestFriend, Illirianah
