]Atm following this build and this is the first build that I truly love. Do you have any advice for my current gear or am I fine?

Wait while I find out how to link items...

Done.

you got pm buddy :)
Okay, so I guess I'm a bit of a newbie at this. I just went ahead and started playing without really reading up. But you know, I figured that it would probably turn out okay, and overall it hasn't been bad actually. Though I am beginning to have issues in some specific situations with my build, and I'm hoping some people might be able to offer me some advice.

First off, I didn't realise that one handed and dual wielding bonuses stacked. I figured that one handed bonuses wouldn't apply if dual wielding. From what I've read I'm mistaken about that, but I guess that's not really my main worry at the moment anyway. My main worry is survivability.

Here's my current build at level 70:

The main way this has been working for me is with spectral throw, lesser multiple projectiles, increased critical strike chance, and power charge on critical. I currently max out on 5 crit charges and with these claws:

I start at about 49% chance and top out at around 69% chance to crit. The trick is that because I'm running hatred the high crit chance means that spectral throw can often effectively freeze large groups of monsters into statues. If I end up getting surrounded I can just whirling blades out and start spectral throwing from a new location.

I've been doing a few runs on level 67 maps, and if I'm careful I can get through them without dying, but low resistances and not quite high enough evasion are currently problems for me. I'm sure those can be remedied by finding items though. The major issue I have is that occasionally a rare monster, and often unique bosses, particularly hillock, will one shot me. As long as I don't get one shotted I don't even need to use flasks that much, the life steal on the claws is high enough that I'm more or less sweet as. But the one shot problem remaains. I'm wondering how I can modify this to put in some survivability. Clearly my build can probably use some tweaking. At the moment I've got about 15 passive re-spec points that I can spend if needs be. I was wondering if it might be smart to respec into something like this:

Here the idea is to spec out of acrobatics / spell dodge and into ghost reaver. Hopefully having the energy shield on top of my life would be enough to allow me to survive the likes of Hillock's attempts to one shot me. The main issue I'm facing is that it seems quite likely to be expensive to switch out to an entirely new EVA/ES set of gear. I'm about ready to buy my first 5 link chest piece, but I really don't know which direction to go in at the moment. Do I re-spec into EVA/ES and take ghost reaver? Or stay with pure EVA? Any advice would be super helpful! Cheers!

@Qwark28 Might be time to upgrade claws soon, and you definitely want more resists, especially as you get into merciless.

@HoneyBadGerMan Acro's fine. Fixing your resists should be a much higher priority. Besides that, you have a significant lack of HP nodes, and you should probably fix that. Once you have enough HP that big attacks don't one-shot you, you're good to go. 2.5k is just about the minimum you can get away with, for higher maps.

Yeah, the resists are a big issue. But I think better gear is probably the solution to that one.

I guess the thing I'm wondering about is, given that there aren't a whole hell of a lot of life nodes near where I'm building, if I re-spec into hybrid ES/EVA, which doesn't require that much of a change, will that be enough to solve the problem with the lack of life nodes in my part of the tree?

If I was going to do that I'd presumably spec out of acrobatics because it halves the quantity of ES and armour, which is why I've been building pure EVA. The concern about making that move is that the hybrid gear tends to be a lot lower in total EVA rating, and without acrobatics I'll probably get hit a lot more often. I'm just wondering if the energy shield is worth it. If I was going to spec into hybrid EVA/ES is there anything I should know about it before I do?

I don't mean to sound like a complete noob, but what are the Pros and Cons of using Vaal Pact?
Thanks, I figured I do need more resistances, I just have no idea on how to get it, use currency to get better items, use currency on resists gear? I just see good gear and replace it with more without knowing how to specifically get something I need. This is my current gear so far

I don't have problems even vs bosses or multiple leutenants, atm at lvl 44 in the middle of act1, resistance I stack depending on each boss and I generally keep around 40% as average.

The chest, helm and amulet I'm stick with because I need the sockets of the chest, I cannot find a good amulet so far to make a rare out of on my lvl and don't have the currency to make my helm rare.

Found out that after 1.0.2, Viper Strike + Multistrike + Melee Splash is decent clear for a 3L. Thoughts? A RRG Link on my claws are rather hard tho >_>

you can always link it on your armour ( up to 6 links )
Was thinking of using it as a third option for skill choices to deal with reflect mobs, but now it seems that it's good enough to integrate into the build. Probably gonna replace Reave with it.
