[GUIDE] 1339 Fireball Shotgun/CI Sorc v1.0.0

I'm new to the witch and PoE in general but:

Do those chance to crit multipliers work with spells? Isn't that what chance to crit on spell nodes are for?
The sad moment when I realized I dont even know what 1339 stands for :(

Nice build I'm using it now.
Just ehm the ES you take after CI is less then you would get at the start of the witch tree, wich you skipped.

Actually, if you read the keystone behind CI it is a "more" modifier which works differently than the usual energy shield node. With the amount of intel this build provides, the 12% "more" provides substantially more bonus than 18% "increased"

And a little question, why do you ski(m)p on the fire dmg now?

Had to cut somewhere. Choices, my friend. Don't worry, I still have plenty of damage with the current tree. About 30k single-target which makes short work of pretty much anything.

Yeah man. The only crit/multiplier nodes that don't work with spells are those which explicitly state for example "Crit multiplier with daggers" or "Crit chance with bows." Both Global, Untyped, and for spells Crit nodes work with spells.

Hey guyz i have the best gear in the game!!! I can run lvl67 mapz with 60 exalts worth of gear!!!!!!
@MetalheadNorm
Did this build changed much since release?
My Fireball witch has been laying around for a few months now.
I couldn't raise FB DPS above 1.1K on a 5L.

So what the news on the build?
I had a quick look on the first page and everything seems the same, didn't notice any changes.

The changes were very minor, so you may have missed them. It plays mostly the same, the only difference was in Auras and the new Trigger Gems. I changed the build on the tree slightly, but nothing drastic. My sorc(88) is still pumping out 10k tooltip, and a player I've been working with on this build for the past week about has recently climbed over 4k (lvl75). He is working with a 5L too, if that gives you any idea.

Is this build actually viable for a new player?

I love fireball, i love dmg and i love looking awesome, but i cant for the life of me figure out if i am much better off going icespear over fireball? Fireball just seem overall weaker, more dmg, but no pierce and no cc.
If you do not have access to top-end items such as the ones listed in the guide, you're going to have a hard time pulling a build like this off. There are ways to make an effective fireball caster on a budget, that even a new player can do, but this is not the build for that. Sorry.
Yeah, there isn't much change on the witch caster builds with release.

IMO the secret to this build is Void Battery, or any caster build for that matter (that makes use of full Power Charges).

Otherwise I guess it's a good idea to swap LMP with Elemental Proliferation.

Out of curiosity, what does "1339" from thread title stand for?
It bugs me for some time now :)
Isnt it obvious? :P It is better than any 1337 build out there :P
