Season Three, Event 64: 1 Week Party

I think hardcore league could be considered as a legacy league somewhat; judging by the direction leagues/competitions have been going and personally I think this is great. I think an onslaught week race would be extremely offputting for softcore players; generally these races were thought of as a gateway to hardcore for softcore players and I think they should encourage that (I'm pretty sure regular hardcore would appreaciate a small influx). This is how I came to play hardcore. Loved the intensity and never really understood hardcore before experiencing that intensity. I understand people want to complete their challenges as well but 4 months is easily enough time to make more chars. Those who are unhappy are easily capable of getting to 60 in a short space of time I would of thought. I have no complaints.

If anyone is struggling for a party feel free to pm me, aiming to do well so you need to be able to commit time (nolife) and be ambitious. Have two other members at the moment. There will be a strong magic find theme throughout the group too.

Good luck
Return to this flameless sunder
Where exiles burn and the joyless wander;
Frozen lore beneath chaotic thunder,
Dominus returns to send us under.
YAY . no more sleep for me

I think we would agree for the most part in the end, my point is simply that the time investment required to be able to obtain 1000 points (a more personal goal to achieve than anything else, the ladder is still there after 1000 with it's own rewards) is far beyond what would be considered reasonable.

Anything short of being unemployed alarm clocking races will leave you out of the running, hence why compete in the first place...

I mean if the top point rewards are there only for those who frequently win races why not just add those rewards for finishing at the top of the ladder.

Bolded what I agree with most, the fact is, for all of our bellyaching it boils down to ridiculousness on GGG's part.

"hey guys! 2 new mini leagues 4 month spans each yay new ladders clean slates challenges! real life reward incentives yaaay"

30 milliseconds later

"hay gaiz!! season 3 on your heads stupid rewards no lifing not just suggested extremely required no great incentives ran directly in competition with new leagues yaaaay!"

I feel like someone at grinding gear was out too late partying with this guy did a bump looked around and yelled SEASON 3 NOW!

It feels like some rushed clusterchuck of nonsense, and I can't figure out why they threw it out here in the midst of already "new" content.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, and I see what you mean ckay27 I have a clan mate who never played HC with us until he started racing. So I definitely see the need for more normal style races, I think it promotes balance in an otherwise BLAMT BLAMT BLAMT TURBO IMMOLATION NO SOCKS NO LEGS NO WEAPONS PEEN TOTEMS FROM THE SKY dumbass set of race rules, I get it that they want things to be harder for the oh Idk same 25 guys who race the majority of all the races, but honestly you do not cater to them, keep your casuals happy this race will do that, but this season hasn't impressed ANYONE.

I think one week races are kinda pointless, cause unless you no-life them you have no chance. Plus have you seen the paucity of events for the next week?

You can not race on the AUS gateway, you will crash consistantly, not sure if they have fixed this issue (while racing) but I know for certain you stay away from this gateway while racing
any chance we get the ranger passive changes preview before the one week race starts ?

or will the race not be affected by the changes ?

Stupid stupid 1 week race, hope it's an EPIC FAIL.

WHY should there be no regular races for a whole week???? SERIOUSLY???
All the bitching going on... i feel like people are too used to casual catered gaming. The points system is supposed to be that only about 10 people get the highest tier, the required points needed raises exponentionally, like trying to reach lvl100 its progressively harder the closer you get, i doubt any1 wants a D3 style lvl60 lol ur dun. Its meant to be an attempt to the very last race to keep up ifyou cant then settle for some lower rewards.

As for dropping chars into onslaught in the end, i think you miss the point of a ladder reset, its supposed to be an economy and playerbase unaffected by outside leagues, temp or permanent

I personally plan to play this and my ons char on the side as i feel like it, lvl60+ in a week i feel is reasonable even solo and this is coming from someone who can usually only afford a few hours of game time a day
