Sounds good. I'm sitting around level 37. This is my current build. What would be your recommendation? Just a base respec?

Need to upgrade my bow, but for now I like having two 5L options and the damage is not too bad either.

Passive Skill Tree


I expect to get a little over 3000 health when I finish this ranger around level 80. If I max out my resistances and get a little more armour (5kish) will that be enough to survive the physical damage in act 3 merciless?

How important is it to buff chaos resistance? Is it possible to get decent chaos resistance gear without losing IAS or other resistances? Does anyone have experience with this? And is it worth it?

Is it possible to beat Piety with around 3000 life without dying by combining two defensive curses on her? I'm thinking about enfeeble + temporal chains (or warlord's mark)? Which skills do you guys use to stay safe?

Also wondering whether I should swop a few skills. I'm thinking about taking Frenzy instead of Elemental Hit (also synergises nicely with conduit) and Life Leech instead of Life on Hit (for my Boss killer skill). Just not completely sure how Life Leech works in this game.. :/

I insta-died yesterday with 3300 HP after buffs and around 55% resists to a fire dog thing in a 68 map so I would say aim higher, I am missing health in quite a few gear slots and probably going for somewhere around 4500.

Getting just out of negative with chaos resists has been ok for me so far, most chaos damage is easily avoidable with competent play.

I think I did piety with about 2800hp and 40-50% resists. My MVP for that fight was Rejuv totem and patience. I used conductivity but enfeeble seems like it would do wonders.

I love my Frenzy, if only just because keeping up frenzy stacks in between spamming lightning arrow keeps it slightly less boring.

Life leech was better for me on my single target attack during merciless, I would lose life with LoH but gain life with life leech.
I recently ditched LL and just drop a rejuv totem for longer single target fights thou. I have no life on hit or LL on gear, 95 or so life regen per second and my frenzy has 3.32 attacks per second at 5 stacks but I still have a net gain of life holding frenzy next to a rejuv totem.
If I get a second 5 link I will probably add life leech back into my frenzy thou for safety.


I would like to thank Mr Petrov for this build, it has been a blast to play and is pretty damn solid all around.

Im at 71 now and my current stats are:
5200 DPS Frenzy/culling/WED/added lightning with 5 stacks.
2900 DPS LA/LMP/WED/faster attaks/Life on hit.
3650 HP, 4700 armor 50-60 resists and 9% chaos resist.

Running 66-68 maps solo I have died only once so far but I was a bit careless on a tough map, there are definitely times were I would rather be tankier than I am but that will come with better gear that doesnt sacrifice as much hp as I do now and I can still see a lot of places where my DPS could improve too.
I already feel pretty strong and cant imagine what it will be like in a few upgrades time ^_^

So I'm trying out the popular build and was wondering if I should go with Projectile Weakness or Conductivity? I would think Conductivity would do better increasing your chances of shock. Granted I'm only lvl 24 so no idea how good either are at the higher levels.

I use both personally. Conductivity for single targets and small packs, projectile weakness for big packs for its pierce.

I'm wondering if anyone can answer my question regarding ' % increased elemental damage with weapons' stat.

My understanding is this stat affect the flat elemental mod on weapons and the physical -> ele conversion based attack such as Lightning Arrow and Ice Shot (which is fire off the weapon itself). Please confirm if this is the case. It seems to me this stat barely increase my damage on LA when i hover my LA tool tips and yet this is the most sought stat on belt, quiver and accessories. Is there anything i'm missing? Some sort of hidden damage not display in the tool tips? I have done many comparison between flat ele dmg mod and %increased elemental damage with weapon when choosing upgrades, and every single case point toward flat ele dmg to me.

is it has anything to do with my bow?

I am just making a marauder with bow passive, its from the other thread in marauder section. the look of the passive was very similar to the tankier version of petrov's.

what are the difference between marauder and ranger if they exactly have the same passive tree?
is one will have higher HP than the other or higher DPS than the other? What is the benefit as ranger or as marauder.

you lose on projectile dmg at the beginning section of the ranger passive. Instead you can choose to go inner force earlier or go for atk speed nodes instead.

After reading this forum, i want to bump with a few questions. i know my gear is pretty bad atm, and i lack the flat elemental damage on some pieces. i am level 76 at the moment.

for Lightning Arrow i use: LA + LMP + Life on hit + Faster Projectiles + weapon elemental damage. i ditch around 1.8k damage on this one
for Elemental Hit i use: Elemental hit + life leech + weapon elemental damage + faster projectiles (if i get another 5L i will add culling strike). I ditch around 2.8k damage on this one.

Now, my questions are the following, knowing that i have a low dps for this level.
1.Is it worth to try switching from projectile weakness into elemental weakness ?(i have both)
2.Is it worth switching to Chain from LMP on Lightning Arrow?
3.Would frenzy be better then Elemental Hit? i saw people talking about frenzy here, and i am just wondering if it would be better
