Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)
No problem :) Yes I agree inner force will be worth it when my auras are higher level as they are only 15-16 right now. of course when you hit 80 you can just spend the 80-83 points into projectile dmg again.
Edit: copying my build to top page on 86 so more people can get an idea of what to look towards depending on their play style *************************************************** Okay I am level 71 with some pretty decent stats following build #2 for reference. I just specced into the inner force and acctualy lost 100 dps off my ele hit so I may spec back to proj dmg not sure yet. 2.6k life before auras Edit: as you can see i have alot of attk speed, my APS on each attk is 3.13 Stats Buffed: With Old build using Proj dmg LA 2882k dps Ele Hit 4446k Dps Speccing into inner force LA 2889k dps Ele hit 4364k dps With that being said, keeping inner force here is my current build (although like I said I may spec back into projectile dmg and use those two extra passives for HP as I feel that would be more useful) http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgIAAdECcQSzBS0ILgx9DjwOrRB_FE0UcRjbGS4Zjho4HRQhYCftKLUpTymlMgkyiTWSOlJAoEGqQ5xKfU7IVElVxlYEVvpX4lnzW69fP2BLYIhhUmOnZp5noGe9cql07XTxd-V673zZgpuGYId2j0aQCpBVm42boZ65ogCnCKeErKqv67iTud3AGsaez2XQ0NN-1I_dDd1G37_nUuw47YPuDu5v7w7vTvIv9kj3Mvjr-tL8TvzF Gear, this build is gear dependent like it or not if you want to get into the damage, you can see what my ele hit and La are linked with if you check the gear. I am temped to remove faster attks out of LA for chain though. If your damage is low you need more ele dmg most likely on ur gear, don't skimp on your bow if you have only physical of course your ele ranger will be weak lol Last edited by celbii#4965 on Feb 17, 2013, 1:53:03 PM

" But instead of taking the +int +dex we can take +int +int that connects fitness to inner force instead of going through the left, saving 1 skill point Passive skill tree build IGN: Esane

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Petrov and all the other contributors for putting this excellent thread together! It made it possible for me to progress to merciless on my first character without using many regrets!
I was foolish enough to play the 'All-out-DPS build' on a computer that can barely run the game on the lowest graphical resolutions. So obviously I died a few times due to lag, frozen screens *cough* bad play *cough* and other technical difficulties. But now that I have reached level 66 and the experience penalty on deaths is beginning to take its toll, I would like to be able to play the game without having to worry about dying in two or three hits. So I was wondering how other elemental rangers have gone about trying to solve this problem. My ranger looks as follows: Stats:
Spoiler
Health: 2000 Armour: 4000 Fire Resistance: 75% Cold Resistance: 67% Lightning Resistance: 65% Chaos Resistance: -52% Lightning Arrow: 1600 DPS (without chain) Elemental Hit: 2400 DPS (Don't have the exact numbers, on the wrong computer at the moment, but you get the point..) Skills:
Spoiler
Boss killer: Elemental Hit + Life on Hit + Weapon Elemental Damage + Faster Attacks + Culling Strike
Main attack: Lightning Arrow + Life on Hit + Weapon Elemental Damage + Faster Attacks + Lesser Multiple Projectiles Spell Totem + Summon Skeleton + Blind + Added Cold Damage Enfeeble + Increased Duration Temporal Chains + Increased Duration Projectile Weakness Auras: Grace, Wrath, Anger Equipment:
Spoiler
Need to upgrade my bow, but for now I like having two 5L options and the damage is not too bad either. Passive Skill Tree I expect to get a little over 3000 health when I finish this ranger around level 80. If I max out my resistances and get a little more armour (5kish) will that be enough to survive the physical damage in act 3 merciless? How important is it to buff chaos resistance? Is it possible to get decent chaos resistance gear without losing IAS or other resistances? Does anyone have experience with this? And is it worth it? Is it possible to beat Piety with around 3000 life without dying by combining two defensive curses on her? I'm thinking about enfeeble + temporal chains (or warlord's mark)? Which skills do you guys use to stay safe? Also wondering whether I should swop a few skills. I'm thinking about taking Frenzy instead of Elemental Hit (also synergises nicely with conduit) and Life Leech instead of Life on Hit (for my Boss killer skill). Just not completely sure how Life Leech works in this game.. :/ Thanks in advance for the advice! Last edited by Fierce_Frog#6272 on Feb 17, 2013, 3:58:41 PM

Hey Folks,
I was curious what kind of major differences there are between build 1 and 2? Is Build 1 still relatively viable? I've currently gone that way duoing with a summoner friend but I'm worried that maybe I should of gone build 2. Any input would be appreciated. Do you still see much higher damage with build 1 then 2? |

I'd changed Perfect Aim for Inner force and for a time being I've got lower dps on my LA with anger and wrath running on. Any suggestions?

" Not to be an arse, but did you open the two links side by side and compare them? its very easy to do. Now if you do that you will see the main difference, build #2 takes more health nodes and build #1 goes for more damage oriented nodes. Luckily the base build is somewhat similar and you should be able to compare them and use your respec points from quests and spec into #2. Does it do less damage? Yes, but not that much less and the extra HP is way worth dieing all the time. |

Cel,
my question was more how that effects you at end game. If I'm duoing with a summoner I find I don't take too much damage. However, I'm not sure if that changes at higher levels. So far, I'm just on cruel - and this is my highest character. |

" Check my post on the top of this page for my thoughts on it. " Fair enough, I still say go for the tank build. While summoners are nice in the regards that they have plenty of meatshields, bosses can still wipe them out quickly. I was doing the dps build first and speced into the tank build and never looked back, the extra hp is very nice when you are doing maps. Last edited by celbii#4965 on Feb 17, 2013, 7:23:00 PM
