I think if you're going past RT anyway to get SB, you should grab RT first. If you look at your chance to hit before getting RT, it's going to be in the low-mid 70s probably (remember the tooltip chance to hit is for a comparatively levelled mob).

If you wait to get SB, your chance to hit will get perilously low as you don't stack much dex past RT on the way to SB.

Most rangers using blood magic use Grace + Anger + Wrath. They are all very good, and all of them will reserve a flat rather than % amount of life.

Keep maxing them, the increase in upkeep is so low it's well worth taking them to lvl 20 if you have the attributes to support it. I just took lvl 18 as an example because mine hasn't gone higher yet.

what do u think about this build

Would you still recomend auras on the ranger? Since you have blood magic as a part of your build, and auras will take a certain amount of HP. Is it worth having the aura or getting a BM gem?

Just read the 2nd post above you for an opinion on auras. Or if you want Petrov's opinion specifically just read the first post in this thread. He clearly suggests which auras to use.

I can't seem to find a bow better than this one, and I've had it for ~10 levels now.



Did I find something crazy good for the late 20s, or have I just been unlucky looking at trade chat? My dps is ~270ish at level 39.

I'm following the tanky shock stacking build for HC and I'm curious how this build maintains the proper +intelligence for the aura gems because I can't even level Wrath past lvl 3 while my character is 45...


I feel I must take some of those Savant(+30) int nodes for this build to actually work...

You might have to pick a savant node or two until you get the int nodes around static blows. Once you have them you can just spend 1-3 respec points to get rid of them again.

i actually feel that SB shouldnt be rushed if you are not in merciless difficulty, clearing quests and farming merciless. So if you are still in cruel and your hp is low, just focus on getting hp nodes first. If you need some intelligence to level your auras, take those that lead to SB but dont rush it unless necessary.

Personal experience is that SB doesnt give additional dps unless your bow is really fast. It also only works better if mobs are packed. So if mobs are packed, and your hp is low, you are much better off getting hp nodes first and/or farming cruel difficulty in A2 or A3docks
