Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)
Well jdonk - thats exactly my "problem"
atm i just run grace cause other auras arent possible. But my dmg is high enough to 2-3 shot everything and i just got LA + LoH atm. Searching for any 4 linked helmet / gloves / boots and need chaosresistance because those vipers in a2 cruel just rip me if i cant run all the time. its pretty hard actually but i skipped the "viper"areas and just farm till 48 / 49 in fellshrine. Easy mobs and a large area nothing compared to ledge in a1 but still a good farmspot to get some skillpoints and to overlevel those nasty vipers :D . I just ask myself if i should skill that +8% chaosresist node right in the startup area of the ranger - anyone has suggestions about it ? Think 8% would be ok to get to -12% - would only need 1 item with cr > 12 to negotiate that cruel resistance penalty of -20% |

" Why haven't you gotten blood magic? |

I went with the shock tank build myself and the path I took was STRAIGHT for all the elemental dps nodes FIRST. I did not really miss the hp nodes until merciless due to being able to one shot most if not all of the elites, 2 shots at the most. I also did not take blood magic until I started to invest in the hp/life per sec nodes. I used clarity level 1 and a mana leech gem. Doing so only allowed me to link very very cheap support gems to my light arrow but all in all I thought this was the easiest ranger build I have leveled. It was my 3rd ranger.
This is what I got the build to before I started to invest in other things. I believe it is the "core" of the build, while leveling. Now the reason why I did this is because after rebuilding a few times I came to realize that while leveling, certain things aren't necessary. Blood magic, resolute technique, unwavering stance, and iron reflexes are not important until merciless imho. Blood magic requires certain things before its usable, such as hp per sec and a decent hp pool and some form of life steal or life on hit. The other passives I mentioned aren't really necessary until merciless either. Or until you find yourself getting 1-2 shot. While at lower levels you have so much dex that your evasion is very high and you rarely get hit. Another thing I did while making one of these amazingly fun and op rangers is to keep my light arrow simple. I only started using LMP at lvl 65 when I finally got my 5th link. While leveling here is what I had. 2 link - LA + Mana leech 3 link - LA + Mana leech + faster attacks 4 link - LA + Mana leech + faster attacks + life on hit These are only while leveling. As I pointed out above, I used these primarily b/c I did not go for blood magic early and had a mana pool up until my late level 40s, and these support gems do not increase the cost of LA by much. After obtaining the talents in above build I started to invest heavily in the hp nodes, beginning with the life per second areas first because they work so well with blood magic. The beauty of doing things this way is that you can get a feel for when you need to put points into the other core passives like iron reflexes. Your already there, it only takes one point when your ready. When you notice your evasion is not keeping you alive, then it is time to put your points into iron reflexes and unwavering stance. Anyways, hope this helps. The shock/tanky build is the 3rd ranger build I have done (not counting my try at bow shadow :P) and it was by far the easiest to level. Dragon DISCLAIMER! " If you don't have the Elementalist/Celestial Walker passives (+41% ele dmg) in the Templar area, I would definitely do those first... the added 50 INT will help in leveling Wrath and the +10% resists is nice. Loot Filter -- https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1490867

" No, but I'm not sure if the elemental part that's converted in Lightning Arrow/Burning/Ice Shot etc gets increased. Loot Filter -- https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1490867

" you missed 1 savant earlier on, and there 3 weapon ele nodes near the beginning. These can add some dps to you. Moving on, you should go towards templar for more weapon elemental and/or life depending on what you need. You should not rush to static blow, as its the skill only for beyond lv65+ https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgIBAdEFLQguDjwOrRQgFHEY2xmOIWAotSmlMgk1kjpSQKBBqkOcSn1OyFBHVgRW-lnzW69gS2CIYVJnoHKpdO108XrvfNmGYId2m42euZ_LokCnMKyqr-vEotN-3Q3fv-2D7g7vTvT49zL46_zFkArdRmOn_E7AGpBVp4QaOOw4V-IyiXfl IGN:

" I don't play HC, sorry, I don't have the patience. I'm sure there are many who do who are better placed than me to comment. On Iron Grip, have a look in some other threads regarding the DPS impact it has. My instinct (and it's only that), is that unless you have base phys damage on your gear of around 150-250, then Iron Grip isn't going to be that useful for you. However, if you have lots of phys gear (eg Lioneye unique bow) then Iron Grip will be important. P. |

Hi guys,
could you please be so kind to explain why to take iron reflexes? I read few posts that it's bad for end-game. Should I take it asap or in any particular moment while building my character? |
