(Aug 11) One-hour Cut-throat event

Where were those people who claim to pawn everyone?

My team were looking for opponents on Singapore server for the first 30 min... ctl + click portals revealed NO opponents... WTF?

Solo league = no parties.
Check out http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/41078 and post there to support having solo-only and party-only event modes!
I posted a video of my experiences in today's event.

After watching this video.

These things shoud be added to cut-throat (also default league woud be awesome!).

- Removing player name in instance.
- Option to hide yourself from /Whois in settings.
- Option to in settings to hide your lvl.
Playing POE since 0.9.0

Just disabling parties can not stop collaboration between groups of people. Its still fairly easy to form a group of 2-3 people that dont attack eachother & share equipment from their kills, though groups of 4-6 might be too hectic with friendly fire.. Though it is a nice mode to activate, people could always turn on you at any time =P

of course its possible to cooperate even without a dedicated party-mode, but it would make the use of aoe skills way more risky, so probably sorts out most of the dumb unaimed non-playerskill-demanding area-attack-spamming, hopefully making CT more fair...
(and I expect, it could be difficult for such "groups" to even get into the same instances, if they dont share the same camps)

Watched the event earlier on Kripp's stream. Had an idea for a couple features that would help both cutthroat and regular game play:

* A game option to disable equipping items / leveling gems beyond a player's "hard stats" allocated by passives

AND/OR

* A visual cue - like making the background a warning color (yellow/orange)

This would help prevent being unable to equip gems/items after the fact if your character died and lost the +stat item.

To add on to what the other person was saying, I think it'd be fairly simple to fix that, too. Either prevent the instance list from showing the names of the players (showing a number of players instead), which would be a short-term solution for the quick races, or remove that completely and make joining other people's completely random. A player gets a choice to either join their own instance, or a randomly selected instance of another player.

Sound good?
