(Aug 11) One-hour Cut-throat event

Was fun, ran with a group, killed some people, didn't die once.

But PHASE RUN made it really annoying, couldn't catch people :P.
pretty in the middle of the league there was a disconnect event and all in our group lost everything.
we had to start from scratch, some tried to go back into the old instance to grab some stuff but this was a serious setback as we did fine until then.

the event was definitely fun as we hunted down solo players through the levels...

Make solo Cut-throat.
First time I ever did cutthroat. I played a marauder solo with a 2 hander. I died once raiding an instance of 2 people, and killed around 5-7ish people. I had a ton of fun! All my skillpoints went into life passives and I got x2 life rings from the vendor ASAP.

Honestly, solo isn't hard at all, as long as you keep a careful eye on the minimap and run as soon as you seen red X's. Its almost too easy...but that could be a good thing in a long-term cutthroat league.

I rush ahead of the pack as quick as I could so my instances would be less likely to be raided. I was level 2 when I got to the ledge (haha) and I farmed to level 5 and picked up my phase run gem and got to ganking. Unless a player tried to fight you back, or was careless and not paying attention, you didn't have a chance of killing them, even with phase run. I think this is ok considering how harsh the penalty is for death, and think it'd be good for a long-term league.

I think its a little dumb that due to the speed penalty from armour, I never wore any armour the entire time. Speed is paramount of course. Hitscan archery is very OP, but I hear thats getting fixed.

I found due to my ping (300ish) that it was nearly impossible to catch opponents with a groundslam.

I think the appeal and fun in this kind of league for me, assuming it was made permanent would be trying to survive and grind out the PvE of the game while dodging or fighting back at ganks.

It needs a few tweaks, but I can see this being my mode of choice for PoE. I don't think solo is a problem at all, as long as you develop a couple tactics and play carefully... and you can still gank people!
Was great fun.

Accidentally left my party and my team mate immediately turned round and tried to kill me. I was taking very little damage and I even had time to tell them in chat that I was in their party, but they kept attacking, so I killed them. :P

I can see that being an issue though. Team mates leaving the party and immediately stabbing you in the back is not good. It does state that the person has left the party, but you won't immediately realise until they start attacking you. I know we are meant to be exiles, but from a gameplay point of view I don't think that is a good mechanic.

If we could trade in town, then if a party member needs gear, then we wouldn't have to risk doing it in a PVP zone.

In my opinion, XP, potion filling and gear needs to be shared equally with all members in range, not just favouring the person who got the kill.

A solo only, group only and mixed modes would be nice. I don't want to be forced to play with unreliable randoms just because it is the only way to survive in cutthroat.

Totally agree with this suggestion. The groups of people running to each solo instance to gank 1 person have no class and are not interested in competition, just mindless pub stomping of one player.

Also remove phase run, it's trash for pvp. I'd also recommend putting people in combat when an enemy player is nearby and preventing them from using waypoints and TPs all together. My last suggestion would be to remove the penalty for movement on armor, this game isn't a simulation and doesn't strive to mimic real life combat, the mechanic is annoying and is not fun at all.
It was first time for me and it was quite fun (until I was killed when placing passive point). Then I was caught in the endless terrace bullshit. That was kinda fun too but not as much.

Losing everything is good thing, it makes sense and isn't really that fatal. I didn't know that before but if you grab extra gear from first zone and stash it and keep stashing things regularly, you can die now and then.

What I think should be changed are kill quests. I joined flooded depths and ten seconds later I was told to turn in the quest. Someone else killed the crab, I believe. The kill should only count for present party members imo.

Started with a templar, stashed ice nova and hillock drops to begin a witch. Rushed ahead and got lvl 10 seconds after the leader before heading out to have some fun.

Close call having my first unique drop as I was being invaded.
