Descent Races
make this a permanent league, single player only, no trade whatsoever, go crazy with the loot, and make the dungeon endless
instant 1000000000000000000x more players come to PoE
Many people suggest we make it permanent, but the content has been designed around the duration of the event. We will investigate bigger ones in the future, but part of the goal here was to do it as a quick side thing while working on other pressing issues!

You still need to FIX YOUR GODDAMN Desync!
I just died in Onslaught, with NO indication I was even in trouble. When I resynced I was instantly at 30 life, and then died a split second later to a mob surrounding me. You CAN'T only resync on a crit, a mob can easily whittle you down to zero while out-of-sync without any crits occurring. You need more AGGRESIVE resync code, even if it means putting more load on the servers, if you want a more stable game and user base that doesn't continue to leave the community due to desync death attrition. Are you ever going to fix that shit, Chris? Level 48 down. :( Going to stop giving you guys any more money until you do. Some of us really hope you put more resources on fixing the game's obvious inherent problems, rather than simply issuing more microtransactions for cool weapon effects. -TL Last edited by TheLurker on Jun 24, 2013, 8:17:27 PM

" There are more resync improvements coming, but because any distance at all from the servers results in a small amount of (unavoidable) difference in locations, making it too aggressive often causes unacceptable levels of resync during normal gameplay. Only changes that we believe are an overall improvement are patched in. Thanks for your patience.
" " Concerned that this is not going to work out well. Player 1 gets a ton of blue packs throughout the event, dies to final boss Player 2 suffers poor monster rng throughout the event, kills final boss Player 1 has more xp and wins Anything in place to prevent this (or similar) from happening? Edit: Basically, if a player who dies is able to place above a player who defeated the final boss (or whatever the races win/finish condition is) then we have a pretty significant problem. " They'll probably die before or during the final boss. I should clarify that to get to the final boss, you had to skip some monsters (possibly half of them). Those choices matter. Last edited by Chris on Jun 24, 2013, 8:23:22 PM

" Who will probably die, and why? Also since its necessary to skip monsters / rush to reach the final boss before the hours up, does the boss have a reward equivalent to the risk? From my previous post, edited after you replied: Basically, if a player who dies is able to place above a player who defeated the final boss (or whatever the races win/finish condition is) then we have a pretty significant problem. Edit: I like the idea of dead players being eligible for prizes for the same reason i like characters and items getting deleted after the event- it removes the incentive for holding back in any way and encourages players to go all out. Im just concerned about the implimentation. IGN: KoTao Last edited by KoTao on Jun 24, 2013, 8:31:58 PM

The amount of content was designed so that it's too much for one hour, but people who rush rather than kill can see all of it by the end of the season. Rushing ahead is better than painstakingly killing every single monster in every area, but if you rush too far, you'll end up in content that's way too hard for you.

=( Again... If a player kill every monster what lvl can he get? 15? 20? 50? 90? aprox..
When the Hour finish, what happens with the character? He gets destroyed or he remain alive for keep he's progress in the next race?... PvP? =( Indestructible, determination that is incorruptible
From the other side, a terror to behold Annihilation will be unavoidable, every broken enemy will know That their opponent had to be invincible, take a last look around while you're alive I'm an indestructible master of war
" We've seen characters finish in the early-mid 20s so far, but the balance is constantly changing as we develop it. It also depends on what strategy is used. At the end of the hour, the character and items are destroyed. The progress for the next race is knowing what to do and what weaknesses there are on which levels. |
