Just wanted to drop in some feedback to the author of the thread:

MY REVIEW:

I started this build at level 41 because I had a dormant Duelist that was doing a Rain of Arrows build when the full respec patch happened. I also have a couple of 75-81 characters and had a very decent starting point as far as gear, skill gems, and so on.

I went from 41 to what I am at now 67 with absolute ease. I don't think I've ever played a build that has been this ridiculously faceroll since I started. However, I have to say that you definitely need to stack up that life because the faster your bow, the faster you'll be shooting off HP but even so the second you start connecting hits with mobs you'll leech it back instantly. I was able to do Piety Merciless at level 65. I had a pretty hard time doing that on other characters in the past. With this character at 65 I started doing maps no problem. With just about 2700 hp after auras and currently max resists I'm able to decimate pretty much everything.

And it's not like I'm using the best bow in the world to do this, either...

So yea, GREAT BUILD!

Thanks for the feedback :) I'm glad you enjoy it. That bow is pretty weak, but fortunately a large portion of your elemental damage comes from Wrath and Anger which is why Inner Force is so important. As long as you have some flat elemental damage elsewhere on your gear you should be fine. Lightning damage is important!

Hey man it looks like a good build, but i want to start as a ranger and this is my modified skill tree and progress:

Ranger:

LVL34 (work my way to duelist)

LVL62 (work my way to iron reflexes, unwavering stance then blood magic)

Maxed (work my way to Vaal pact, templar tree, static blows)

Its a bit squishier than the duelist build but has more dps.
I took vaal pact since it will help against reflect mobs and the fact i will be using blood magic.
Other than that i will pretty much be following the same gear and bandit rewards.
Should i bother getting iron reflexes since i am 1 skill point away from it?
Will i still be in trouble with reflect mobs since i will be critting a bit?
Thoughts?

Well if you're using Split Arrow + Chain, then Life Gain on Hit is better than Life Leech. And since Life Gain on Hit is an instant heal, there is no need for Vaal Pact.

Yes, definitely get Iron Reflexes. Damage reduction is almost always better than a chance to avoid damage in my opinion. The only exception is very hard hitting physical bosses. But even then armor rating isn't completely useless, and it might be the only thing that allows you to survive that hit that might otherwise kill you.

I have no trouble with elemental reflect. Life Gain on Hit is an instant heal, and it gives me up to 950 life per shot. But I also use Resolute Technique so I don't crit. With a high crit multiplier, that might be a different story... But I've never played a crit build past level 60 before, so I can't say what it will be like in maps.

Ok thanks & crap i ment Iron Grip, should i get it?
Of course im getting Iron reflexes, its like a staple in most builds lol :P
So i should be looking for life gain on hit rather than life leech? (hence why i shouldn't bother getting vaal pact).
Hi,

I have lvl 48 toon with this build and things are going smooth. Split Arrow + Chain seems to be very nice pair indeed :).

But now I am somewhat stuck at Cruel Oak. He just doesn't want to go down :D. I have to evacuate myself when hp bottles go empty.

I have life leech on frenzy, which is under leveled as are some other gems too, with dps of 577. Is it just too low to get him down or is there some strategy available? :)
It's very helpful for my tri-ele bow build duelist, and thank you for sharing your wonderful thread, davos.
BTW,I'm a player from China, many people like me play this game, but not all of them can know English,so,may I have your permission to post your thread on our local forum?(I'll sign your ID,of course)

577 dps should be plenty for Oak in cruel. Maybe try keeping decoy totem down and maintaining max distance? That's how I handle Oak in lvl 73 dark forest map. In my opinion he's the hardest map boss.

Iron Grip isn't worth getting if you have a tri-ele bow. I have around 350 strength and it only adds about 40 dps to my SA. Definitely not worth the points. Yes once you have chain and at least gem level 10 on SA, LGOH is better than life leech. Quality helps a lot too. Try to get a 20% LGOH gem if possible.

Davos, I'm still at level 20 and looking at what others just posted, I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea for me to follow the same build using the ranger route.
I'd still like to hear your opinion on pros and cons of choosing a ranger for this build. The only con appears to be attack speed, but you may have a better holistic view..
