I worked out how to make Arc viable

The combo I'm using with Arc right now is Arc + Spell Totem + Remote Mine + Lightning Penetration. That combined with the new mine/trap passives and Lightning Trap + Elemental Proliferation + Multiple Traps is just killing everything on the screen in no time.
