This is the last exalt. :p I also exalted this dagger twice: you can probably guess what the last exalt (t)roll was :) |

Hi folks,
I have some doubts about this build. Now I'm at level 42, and my equip is based on armor. The problem is that it is very low, about 750 and I feel weak in most case behind bosses. My main question is, when i might try to aim at ES and evasion?. Some tips that passive skills up first? Thx IGN: Ezink

The passive skills are sort of put in order with a step by step process on page one.
Feeling weak in your growth period with HP/Armor is normal. I was at 1,200 hp with something pitiful like 500 armor and 200 ES until like 55ish before swapping to Ci around 60. I had roughly 3k es and awful res (something like 40-50-40) when I made the conversion. Don't lose hope! It's not for the meek of heart to take the route of a Ci Shadow, if you like a challenge stick with it! If it's just too hard, bring up another character to help farm currency so you can gear yourself better for the swap so your transition is easier. ign: Kiyumori , Rhea_Morte

Hi, Invalesco,
Thank you for your detailed guide. It is really attractive and useful. I am a newbie, just started out yesterday, I just have something to ask: 1. What is CI, ES, EB? And other short forms? 2. Will you recommend this build to a newbie? Or other builds? Such as EB/Armour/HP Crit Dagger Shadow? 3. Any advice for me as a newbie? Thanks in advance. MCM |

I'll give you the definitions but you ought to at least read the guide before asking questions, as it more or less points out that this isn't recommended for newer players especially as a first main character. Not that it should stop you if you like a challenge, but it's unusually difficult for most to progress successfully to the latter stages of the build without some serious determination or planned spending.
CI= Chaos Innoculation, the principal keystone of our build. ES= Energy shield, the thing you're stacking instead of HP in the end game EB== Eldrich battery, something you do not pick up with CI, typically a very opposite build concept but still effective none the less. Advice as a new player, patience. Shadow isn't a tank, it isn't a caster, it isn't a ranged dpser. You're somewhat of a hybrid that has to know where to stand in order to stay alive but still be effective, A ninja. ign: Kiyumori , Rhea_Morte

As the above poster said, the build is tough as a first character. It was my first character and leveling was definitely a huge struggle - If you are willing to stick with it it's insanely fun and strong - but you will need to really work hard trading items and making profits so that you can afford some good gear, because the build doesn't really shine (or survive) until you have quite high end gear.

Instead of getting a Evasion/ES or Pure ES shield with resistances, could I just get a Kite shield with 24 allres base (angelic/archon) with high ES (300+ as a starter) to temporarily work the build? Or do we not get enough strength?

Hi,
I don't know if you guys have seen the new change log for the upcoming patch but look at some of these spells: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/283101 " Are these not viable for this spec? I pretty much only play in parties of 2-3 so obviously I will have that perspective in mind. I don't have much to say about the splash gem, it synergises nicely with doublestrike/multistrike and if viper strike applies the dot to nearby targets that could also be cool - but I don't know if it's really as well suited here as the others might be. I've been thinking that if lightning strike isn't worth 6-linking (mentioned in the advice section of the guide and around the thread), then maybe flicker strike could be. Initially I was going to put viper strike (eventually double strike) with flicker strike, melee phys dmg, melee phys dmg on full life, increased crit and increased crit dmg - in order to facilitate more one-shotting and frenzy charge generation. Now I think it might be a cool idea to relegate viper strike to a 4-link and put the power charge on crit on the 6-link (there's also a power charge +1 talent close by to the build - not to mention conduit is on-path :P). If you're feeling whimsical (read: professional) you can investigate discharge given that power charges and frenzy charges do cold and lightning damage - and for the solo guys warlords mark gives endurance charges too; but that's probably another build entirely. I have some questions though: 1. I notice a few people have mentioned the fact that double strike's critical strike is only rolled once i.e. if you get the first crit you get the second - is it possible that multistrike will check this way too? If so, it should just be better than double strike for single target, with the exception of having to kill bosses inside packs (with allied invulnerability seems like the most annoying). That's obviously assuming the hits do equivalent damage, etc - I'm just interested to know if anyone has any info on the matter. 2. Does Inner Force work on frenzy/power/endurance charges? If that were the case, would having 4 power charges running increase the crit of flickerstrike by 13%? (Assuming base crit is 5?) Last edited by afrolax#0893 on Mar 25, 2013, 6:41:18 AM
