I wonder how it would work with a dagger crit build. From what I understand it transfers chaos dmg to shield. You'd need to leech more to make up for the chaos dmg but the 700 or whatever life we had before ci could be used for blood magic auras or go blood magic on LS and use life on hit to keep hp up.

Double Strike hitting 5 times, splashing and giving Power Charges on crit? Yes please!

could also add it to lightning strike as well. of course mana costs would be crazy and i'm sure it wouldn't be 100% damage effectiveness.

Personally the new gems for me make me think of removing Lightning Strike and using a second 4L version of Double Strike with this Splash added too it. And keep single target as it is. Just me though.

Let's first see those gems. They might duck royal balls for all I know. We'll see.

there is some truth too this. however from my understanding i think tht these gems r bein added so tht "non triad" builds can compete with fotm ones. currently the "best" builds all use a single ability and i think these gems r designed so tht you can, if u wish, use a single attack to serve all purposes. the same way fp and ek r currently used. hense my previous point about using a second aoe double strike. i think tht we invest alot to make double strike deal alot of damage so why not keep doing tht.

Well I look at em from Ground Slam\heavy Strike\Glacial hammer point of view and I rly don't see any benefit, since those gems will proly have like 10000% dmg reduction. I can see big opportunities for Double stikr with dagger thou. Multi+power charges would be sweet, might even rerol...

I think that the idea behind them would be if you have say a 5L or 6L chest or weapon you could add the splash damage and just use 1 button and 1 skill to serve all purposes. Much the way EK and FP works currently. I think that is the aim of these gems.

However as I've said I don't think I will sacrifice my single target DPS to do that, what I will most likely do is run a second Double Strike on my gloves. Double Strike, Faster Attacks, Melee Damage and Splash. And keep my 6L for Double Strike single target.

The benefit from your POV with regards to Ground Slam etc. is if you say took a Kaoms Chest and then you could 6L on a 2H and have Heavy Strike Splash. Because currently if you use Kaoms and are not EK or FP you suffer because you lack the links to make 2 skills truly effective.
