Not worth an exalt. Try for something with a base phys dmg no lower than 255, added lightning damage, atk speed, crit chance, multiplier, accuracy. Mana or Int is alright as well since they both help your cause.

If you score 3-4 mods of those listed above on a high itemlevel dagger, then you can try exalting it. Sometimes though you will end up with two junk suffixes like what I scored on mine. Can you guess which mods were the exalted ones?

Thinking about exalting this... thoughts?
bye bye PoE
I'd say yes to that dagger, depending on the itemlevel. You have a lot of optimal mods still available like crit chance, multi, base phys dmg, atk speed to name a few.

I'm sure it has been answered already, but I can't see myself reading all 160 pages of this thread to find it. Why do you keep warlords at lvl 1 and why lvl 9 lightning strike?

Well you must not really want to know all that badly then do you?

But I'll explain it simply. Those red gems require strength to level up, and in addition to str you're going to accumulate a higher mana cost per usage depending on how you link the lightning strike or warlork's mark.

It's recommended to keep them at lvl 9 and lvl 1 to mitigate some of that, until your gear is sufficient to support it at a higher level. More or less you're going to have to see what feels right for you depending on where your Shadow is at. For example Lightning Striks at level 17 in a 5 link setup requires 49 mana per cast and 138 Str to equip.

Oh come on now :P

I would much rather play the game today than read through so many pages and I think most sane people would agree. Besides, what are these forums for if not to ask the experienced people questions. Anyway, I can see why lightning strike might be a problem to level. But a level 1 warlords has such an abysmal radius I find myself only using it on bosses. Is that the intent?

Well you said it, you could just play through the game and not look through the forums! :P

But anyway unless you are stacking a bunch of auras and keeping your mana very low in availability you should be able to level either of those skills up some to reasonable levels.

Warlord's mark, It's scaling in radius is pretty solid after a few levels. It was just recommended to be kept low so you don't spend all your mana on it, since the original user of this build stacks a lot of auras he doesn't tend to have much to spend on a skill which won't directly leech mana back, even though the curse itself allows you to do so.

Usage on bosses is ok, but I think you'll find it's more useful to use on mobs before hand so you can stack up endurance charges in order to face tank mobs/bosses if you're trying to.

Why don't you or Invalesco for that matter grab all of the es nodes in the area directly under the witch Icon?

How do Wakes fit to this char?

Used them with my Marauder Striker but with him I could travel fast by Leapslammping around, now daggers can't do that so the 30movespeed loss is there.

Hi guys,

I loved this build!! :)
I've just found it and noticed it is a lot like my current Shadow build (which is my first char btw :( hard to find that good items) which is lv51.

This is what I'm using for now (dropped from rare spider in cruel church a2). As I didn't take CI yet, the LGoH isn't wasted. I use Double Strike as my main source of dmg (even though I resort to Fire Trap + Vulnerability + running in circles when I find big chunks of enemies...), so I restore a fair amt of HP that won't save me from dying, but helps quite a lot.

Is there anything I could do to improve the knife? Or should I let it go and look for something without LGoH as soon I'll be getting CI?

Thanks in advance :) and great work with that guide, I always knew going dagger Shadow was the right way :D
