[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

I'm curious as to how high you guys can get your ES with the CI nerf now. That's the only thing keeping me from redoing this build in OB.

It would be extremely helpful if any of you guys can give some examples of ur success in having high ES. I'd like to know ur total % increase ES node amount and your current ES gear.

I'd like to get an idea of it before starting this, otherwise, I might just pass on this build.

I'm relatively new to the whole CI thing but not so much to the general assassin-style gameplay. That said, I adapted your build to work on a witch. The main reason I did it is because half of this thread is talking about mana problems and Witch is naturally closer to mana regen nodes, so I figured it'd help speed things up a bit with some bonus fashion points.

So, I'm lvl 59 in Merciless right now and I've hit an odd wall. I can farm Ledge just fine but when I go for Fellshrine, things seem to slow down a bit. Naturally I assumed it was because my crit chance was pretty low (Only about 30% on LS) but I'm not able to find a Kris that competes with my dagger nor will I be able to farm one up until I get to Docks. Since I can't breeze through Fellshrine, I figured Act 3 was practically reaching for the moon.

So I'm sitting at 59 with ~1.8k DPS on LS, 2.6k on Double Strike, and about 3k+ on Flicker plus 1757 ES. I'm working on my equips but I wanna know if there's any specific direction (aside from crit on dagger, res/es on armor, etc) that I should be going for. I know some things need an improvement, hence all the farming.

EDIT: Almost forgot, this is about where I'm at right now in passives. Not sure whether I should go for VP or IF after finishing up that ES cluster. I'll eventually refund 1-2 of the mana nodes when I don't need it anymore.

Hi i had the exact same problem dinged 59 and thought time to bbq felshire and died horrbile over and over. I went back to ledge farmed up to 61 there then took on fellshire again.

About 126% Increased ES from passives, some ES from Discipline, and these are my only really big ES pieces. The rest are below 100. Currently clocking 2.7k ES.

I somewhat got over my problem. The horrible damage was coming from low crits and my dagger needing an upgrade. I still clear Ledge faster but I find more useful equips in Fellshrine, even if the kill speed is slower.
I think I've gained about 1k ES and a few more points of damage since I started farming Fellshrine. Kill speed isn't picking up but defensive stats are.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

For the moment, got 4k ES (4.7k with discipline). My passives grant me about + 180% increased ES.

I think this is doing OK survivability-wise, but I am finding maps kinda difficult, feel I'm not doing enough dps. I do about 3k dps with LS and 6k with Double strike. Is that sufficient for maps? (Is it ever sufficient....)

So, I'm curious, do people who run this build prioritize accessories with Strength on it too? I ask because, holy shit, Reduced Mana and and Lightning Strike have healthy STR requirements. I have a +32 Str ring that I want to swap out for something with more damage and resists but there's no way in hell I can keep up with the requirements on RM and LS.

Same problem here, so I try to keep my str. around 100 and stop leveling red gems when they start coming up to the 100 req str. Like you, for the moment I need a str. mod on my stuff (I have it on shield), but I'm thinking of getting the Vaal Pacte passif so I can pick up some str. nodes on the way.

I have a question concerning the big dagger area beside CI on the skill tree. The last nodes on each branch grant accuracy bonuses but I see here that a lot of people don't take these. I have, but I'm wondering if it's worth it, or would those points be better invested somewhere else?

I got lucky and managed to get both LS and LMP gems relatively early in the leveling stage (currently 26). Up until that point I've been gearing around physical dmg, max HP, and basically spamming Dual Strike on everything, which a bit of a pain when ure dealing with large groups. On the other hand, its amazing for quickly taking down bosses due to it's low mana cost and high dmg.

Post CI
"Versus Mobs
Lightning strike will be your main skill. There's no need to tank the enemies."

I'd like to make use of LS, but I having a tough time supporting it - mainly mana. Items that yield mana tend to offer ES as opposed to flat HP. They also tend to boost magic in general as opposed to physical dmg, which gimps my dual strike.

At this point should I just gear as if I was a caster, build ES instead of HP. and dual wield high DPS wpns?

I love this build.

I feel fustrated till I get 3.5k ES and CI, without any kind of damage and survavility.

Now after some lucky craft I have pretty good gear and I feel like it was worth having so bad times leveling at merciles and cruel. I can see how I clear 2 map when anyone of my VT mates are still killing some packs at their first map.

That is my GEAR:

For all that guys who are thinking that the shadow dagger crit build is hard to play its realy worth pending some time leveling and farming gear when you came to late game.
That's some sweet gear man :)
I think the reason he reach that much dps is because he was using diamond flask..
its understandable if he use dual wield but i think with 1 handed dagger getting 30k dps without diamond flask is not possible
I have one simple question - when to stop using clarity?

actually, that tooltip DPS was before diamond flask.

DPS with diamond flask activated and with the same gear:

And just to encourage you guys to keep on upgrading your gear, here are some examples of how high the ES on gear in OB can still go.

I never used clarity in this build to be honest.
