[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

I'm a little confused with which build and strategy to get me through the initial levels. One one hand the author states to use

"Freezing Pulse + LMP is also a very good option (my favourite option) that can last you all the way till Cruel Act3 too."

But them he recommends: "From normal all the way to end cruel, dual wield weapons and use Dual Strike."

I'm not grasping how freezing pulse is such great option considering nothing in the initial build supports it.

At the start you can use almost any skill because is really easy, freezing pulse have a nice dmg and area to kill trash mobs.
Is better than killing one by one with dual strike.

until you get pierce support or LS with quality freezing pulse works very well. Waves goes through enemies and damage all in its path.

PS: QQ = two eyes crying. Sorry about that.

FP with LMP doesn't really need any support. When you use LMP with FP, mobs get hit with all three pulses when you are point blank, so it actually will do three times the damage and dps that it says in the tool-tip. Dual-wield wands with +Spell dmg and just walk over everything with it.

EDIT: Alternatively, you can level with Poison Arrow+LMP which, while not quite as strong with the single-target damage, is also pretty awesome for leveling. I used Poison Arrow+LMP and Lightning Arrow for leveling on my Shadow until I was like 35 or something. FP is probably "better" but I prefer PA because you can shoot it from further away and you never have to stop moving when you grind. Stop long enough to shoot another volley of PA at a pack of mobs, and then keep running. It's super fast.

So you are essentially itemizing around FP (stacking SP, int, mana, ect..) until such time u can fully support LS?
Well, I'm playing HC so I itemize for survival more than anything. Generally speaking, pick whatever weapons give you the most DPS, and whatever other gear that gives you the most +Life or +Life regen.

At low levels, most items suck so much that it really isn't worth trying to itemize for stuff that much anyways. The game is easy enough that it shouldn't be a problem at that point. At least until you get through Normal.

Is the shield necessary for this shadow? Can I just do dual daggers?

Just watched the Hc Cove Shadow video. Great work :)
I love those who do not know how to live, except by going under, for they are those who cross over.
