Item Allocation Specifics
To make three options to choose from is a smart decision. Very good job!

" Only a complete moron would go with FFA as it allows pick-it scripts to win The timer system was a perfect solution to this problem The permanent system is more efficient but it completely takes away the competition between drops. Players won't choose between competition vs efficiency they will simply choose efficiency every time as it's human nature because it's easier. This is called the path of least resistance. I want Path of Exile not Path of Least Resistance |

" This is how my friends and I (...when I get some) will roll for sure. :) https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Looking forward to Ascending in PoE2...someday. |

This is great news and if I was still playing I would now go party with others. But I am still waiting on those desync fixes to come back.

Since I mostly party with trusted friends, FFA is great. Good Job.

Step in wrong direction, you can harp on about how more options is better all you want. We'll see where this trend takes the game.
5 minute timer eh? I give it less than 2 days after the patch before we see whiners in the forum complaining that 5 minutes is not enough time and they are tired of being ninja'd. | |
" I wouldnt have it any other way. Ninjaing loot is one of the few things that never gets old in any game. IGN: Aux

" No. I definitely do not want to see named loot to return ever. It just clutters the field of play and adds another layer to deciphering loot. The current system is very clean and satisfactory. To address your issue you would run Permanent Allocation. My understanding is that if loot dropped for you it would remain highlighted for five minutes or until you leave the instance. Everyone else can see the loot but it is dimmed. This way names are unnecessary as only the allocated person is able to pickup the drop. " Could be shown when you hover over the item, the old system was too much clutter imo. |

It's pretty strange to see GGG accommodate M2M only to step back at the last moment. The whole reason for the M2M ruleset is to discourage defection. If for whatever reason the community sees a surge of higher level maps being run, then the best strategy for an endgame player will be to leech XP from these maps while slowly building a base of magic/rare maps that bypassed M2M allocation. Until the map rolling process becomes less punishing, every map should go to the map maker without exception. Especially with the recent IIR changes. Being able to run a map that you didn't invest in is its own reward.
If this isn't rectified, it's difficult to see this actually enabling PUG mapping. |
