Even tho i prefer a diablo 3 loot system, i could live with a diablo 2 loot system aswell. The entire ideology of letting people choose how looting works seems dysfunctional in a game like Path of Exile. It also show that the game devs will change their basica game concepts to suit everyones taste. Which is not something myself would want to see in a RPG style of game.

Its sad that we all can't play the same game together and have fun. But, im very interested to see when and how they will implement these options. I see even more problems arising for even more options. Just my 2 cents.

It may not be a choice word for some people. But it is for most people. Which is why you see it being used. Sure, there are better words or more tasteful words which could be used but common. Its a game forum not a UN meeting.

Then by all means, show us some more words you'd use to describe the players who don't want to be abused and bullied. Come on, we're dying for it!

Im wondering what the actual consequence to the game will be when these options go live. I've not yet read the actual release date for this concept. From what i've read it seems as only a possibilty which might be added in the future. Also, the game developers don't really want to do this. Which makes me wonder why they would even consider this if this is not something they want.

So, as is; We have Harcore, Default and Race leagues. And with in those leagues we have another grouping based on loot preference? I can't really understand the lgic behind that.
I would rather have a poll which asks what players on the log in screen. Let the players vote and choose one solution.

Im not really looking forward to this change, if it happens. But, im also not happy with its current system which tries to tie in too many player issues and complaints.

Personally I feel having options is awesome. I enjoy FFA at times and I enjoy instanced at times. Typically FFA in public and instanced with friends. Options will allow players to play how they feel comfortable playing which is ideal, imo. If I decide to continue playing PoE at some point I am sure I will use multiple different options for different groups.

I understand that you feel it would be better without options for looting. Why? What are the possible negative consequences of having options? I can only think of positives and see no REAL TANGIBLE negatives.

If I may extrapolate momentarily: my presumption is that they've realized that while they might not themselves prefer to play that way, there's a tremendous segment of their player base that does. Additionally, it seems that they actually do care about wanting their players -- all of their players -- to have fun and enjoy their game. Thus, they seem to feel obliged to give those players the option of playing in a manner that they would enjoy, even though they themselves wouldn't enjoy such a game mode.

I don't get the impression that the devs will be sectioning the leagues in that sense. I think instead they're looking to implement some sort of mode selection when creating a multi-player game.

Presuming this is in the case, then in this fashion, players will be able to safely join allocated loot public games to meet new players, and then turn right around and create private FFA loot games to play with their (newly found) friends. The best of both worlds, as it were.

Ultimately, it's up to the devs to decide how to build their game. The devs do seem to imply that their decision-making process is based on player feedback, though. But that was purely voluntary on their part, and always will be.
