Loot system is fine, since the loot timer patch you have soooooooooo much time to pick up your shit, if you still miss it then maybe stop playing with 2000 latency?
Or other players are blocking your pathing...
Timers are really long now. If a player is blocking you move around them or simply pick a better path when picking up loot. Watching people bump and grind up behind people and complain about not getting drops is funny tho, so feel free to choose.
This is only an issue if you have NO run speed and NO Quick Silver flask.
or if the item drops in a narrow pathway, or in a corner, or there are multiple people camping the drop, or you get multiple drops at the same time that people are blocking off, or someone is dickishly spamming frostwall all around the drop, etc etc. The ability to block pathing to items is a problem.

As a person who spends the majority of my time playing public games i don't have this problem with body blocking. Its easy to sneak in or around and grab any drop, so no its not a problem.
How ever Frostwalls being used at all in public games is lame. Forget blocking loot, it causes death. People who use frost walls either get kicked asap or im gone.
No ones forcing me to play with idiots.

Yeah, I like using frost wall totems in random HC pub groups. I like watching players die. Its fun, much more enjoyable than picking up loot.

Loot system seems fine to me. It makes an otherwise face roll experience of party play into something less face roll,
Don't you think instead of making party play "challenging" by making all players compete against eachother they could make it challenging by making the monsters actually be challenging? I love these kinds of games but I find it exceedingly boring for anyone to say that its fine for a game to be super easy in a party and only challenging in competing with the other players over picking up the loot. I would laugh if someone described a system to me like that. I would surely respond "Wait shouldn't the actual game be difficult and not the loot system?".

If you need instanced loot so you dont "steal" from your friends, you either need better friends, or some professional help.
Your not with friends in public games. However even with friends high quality drops can create controversy that I believe most players would rather not have.

I disagree with your firmly on every point. This does not sound like the game for you, and to be honest people will very much enjoy the systems they have in place for a very long time. There are many games, very good games, out there. Perhaps they contain systems more to your liking and expectations. I recommend Torch Light 2, very good game. Not better than PoE, but different and very good.
and who are you to tell me that this game is not for me?
and you failed to answer to the FACTS i posted into a subjective "this game is not for you"
you must learn to argue seriously...i posted FACTS and you posted....GET OUT OF HERE?? typical mindless ffa-defender......
seriously arent' you guys bored to use the SAME lame EXCUSE when we post FACTS ?
wake up kiddo

so loot options are going to happen:

... we are currently planning to add several modes for Loot Allocation in parties: Full Free-for-all, something close to the current system, and a mode with longer allocation duration for people who don't want to deal with item tension.
This decision was very hard to make because all of our developers are ninja-looters and love extreme item tension, but after talking with a lot of players, we realised that many people would have a lot more fun if we offered these options.
Better late than never.

It seems that at last GGG have come to their senses & are going to add loot options to the host. I guess the perseverance has paid off. Looking forward to the patch.
Oh & as a little parting gift for Vooodu...

Best news ever, finally full FFA! Btw arguing over semantics is futile :)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence. Last edited by Xavderion#3432 on Apr 12, 2013, 10:43:58 AM

The best news is: Finally you can have your FFA and we can have an actual cooperative game instead of a clicking competition!
Praise GGG!
Now the last thing I'm missing is a loot-mode for guilds.
I beat cruel, ruthless and merciless and all I got were some maps.
XBone: the beginning of the end.
