" Ya cuz making friends ingame is so hard :( |

Just started Merc difficulty at lv50 and joined my first public party with strangers. I must say the looting is not enjoyable at all. I don't give a damn about items right now (all wipe anyway), but it's annoying seeing people using Leap Strike to constantly leap onto items and ninja looting before others can even react and walk there. A lot of times I barely see a flash of currency items before it's gone.
As of now, I don't see myself ever joining another public party. I hate having to frantically click for loot all the time. This essentially creates a chaotic party system where the objective is NOT to find ways to clear maps/kill bosses faster, but to be faster than your TEAMMATES at clicking loots. (two friends go hiking, see a sign that says WARNING:BEAR. one immediately bends down to tie his shoelaces. The other friend says: you aren't going to out run a bear. To which he replies: Of course not, but I just need to out run you.) Want to make the game more "cut throat"? Okay, make looting FFA/timer or whatnot available in cut throat leagues only, and not force it upon all players. I think it's great that the developers have a strong vision for this game, but it's also important to not force that onto everyone. Afterall, we ALL have a common goal and that is to grow this game. In order to do that, (from the sheer number of feedback urging for a non-cutthroat looting system), an environment simply has to be created where players who prefer loot harmony can enjoy this game equally as those who prefer the rush and excitement of clicking for loots. In normal leagues and normal leagues only, Rares/Uniques/Currency items/anything else party members normally "fight over" should be rolled for, autolooted randomly, or instanced. That is the only way to go. It puts all this looting tension to rest and makes people focus on the actual objectives of the game. IGN: WaterSeven

" A pub party is not a team. |

I would think that the general reason people play in pub parties is to enjoy being a part of a team, which I would define as a group of people with a common goal working together.

" As would I. But rather obviously, some people's goals are different than yours. For example, a teammate and I in the month race a while back were playing. I had already bought one of the first dream fragments, so I was good. One dropped in my name, I gave it to him. For free. Cause he needed one. That's teamwork. Because we both shared a common goal. Being in a pub party, you have absolutely no idea what the other persons goal is. You're just a rogue player. A mercenary who came to join cause they asked. He owes you nothing, you owe him nothing. |

I think GGG should rather make monster scale better with party size instead of letting people compete with each other about loot.
If people want to fight each other they should go PvP or cutthroat modes(which are very interesting) But for casual player its a pain in da ass to CONSTANTLY have to ninja loot in order to NOT GET RIPPED OFF. And its distracting and disturbing to see all the lootimer. Another point which might not be mentioned yet: If everybody has his own loot you have much better overview because you dont get zerged with tons of items. Thats a very impactful point in my opinion! I am pretty sure that privat loot WILL be introducd in PoE and it WILL be prove to be better. PRETTY SURE, because GGG knows what they do and they will figure out the best way(which is private loot ofc) In my opinion the majority is NOT enjoying FFA loot and those who do just believe they do, but are wrong. They think its somewhat cool to have the thrill but on the long term not even those people will enjoy it. its like: "HUEHUEHUE I AM SO HARDCORE, GIMME FFA LOOT" but in really it sucks for everybody Last edited by Nasabot#4956 on Dec 31, 2012, 8:39:03 AM

" I don't really see why someone would want to party if they don't want to work together? What would be some reasons why someone would party other than to be part of a team? Standard Forever

Again, you are partying together. Meaning, you're merely in the same instance. You have no idea what the other player wishes to accomplish, their intentions, their goals. Nothing.
Just because you wish to play with others does not mean you wish to play the same way as those who join. |

Yes some people have the goal of gaining as much loot as they can. If players are expected to enforce named loot rules we need to have to tools to monitor players who break the rule and the ability to ban accounts from joining any future public parties you create.
