Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" Melee can do that too. You leap slam onto and behind the ranger. then run backwards n get the mob to swarm him. Thats how you do it. Smoother than Smooth. Last edited by Moist#6523 on Dec 16, 2012, 4:54:07 PM

If we are going to be stuck with the current timer (FFA) loot I would like to see a loot log. So the players will know who stole their Orb of Alchemy.

" I would suggest making a game public, and after one or two people join, make the game private. For the most part, I find people behave much better when they don’t have others to blame. Five and six player games DO often devolve into grab first fight second. (which can be fun also if you are ready for it) |

To be honest I don't really care at all to fight over loot, hell if I pick something up that i can't use i'm usually giving it away or trading with said item.
I personally feel the best option is to set loot rules upon creation and can't be changed unless you re-create the party. This game has players that are more geared towards being in competition constantly, which is fine, I for one dislike fighting over loot and would rather have option in terms of how the loot system works upon creation. Maybe there can be a party loot option to just change YOUR loot table affixes based on amount of players in party, so each person gets their own drops BUT they gain increased loot find based on X number of ppl in the group. I think the entire loot situation needs to be rethought by GGG.
A few issues I have in full grps are: 1. So much loot onscreen I cannot see enemies or anything else for that matter. 2. Majority of players agree maps should go to map opener, yet someone always ninjas a map. This causes rage, and unfair accusations to everyone in the group. 3. Totem users do nothing but cast totems and wait for loot to drop. This gives them an unfair advantage to people actively using skills. 4. Some people dont use skills at all and just wait for loot to drop. Heres an idea I think will please everyone. The opener of a public instance is given the ability to check or uncheck certain rules. Such as 1. Loot to named 2. Maps to opener I also strongly suggest loot filter options. |

In favor of a change to loot. I avoided grouping for the past few weeks due to having watched Kripp's stream and seeing how it works and while they are sharing the loot, it wouldn't be so in a public group party. Items can drop off screen with your name on them and you aren't even aware of it and not to mention I really don't feel like this system encourages people to kill first and loot second, so it encourages people to slack off and just wait for loot drops.
I feel like a choice of how a loot system will work in a given party would be an ideal option, because similarly minded players could join up, and this would create more of a team work dynamic and people would not need to instantly drop combat and loot or get nothing. |

" It is not yours until you pick it up. He'll, I don't even ninja. But, I know that just because its allocated to me for a few seconds, I realize that timer is how long it has the potential to be mine. No loot options please GGG. Also, make a party with the title, your name your loot, anyone who disobeys your rules you can kick. Or, start a guild/clan for instanced preferred players. You already have options. |

" How do you know how it will (or won't) be in a public party if you never join one? You do realise that your behaviour will influence other people and that you don't have to stay in a party if you don't appreciate the party members' behaviour? |

" So party options are out of the question but its ok to enforce your own party rules by kicking people...... Does anyone else think that this is weird? Standard Forever
