This a Bot

Well botting is giant problem, if the game goes on release GGG will think about it siriously, but in reality how they plan to stop it when the game really gets popular??
If it get giant playerbase and there will be to many botters in system to be able to handle by GGG human force (like in most games).

That need to be solved, though for now it always semed impossible. Hackers/botters do what they want in today games, nobody stop them, nobody really can.

I played most games on the market (rpg genre) and 9/10 reasons i quit a good game is hacking/boting.

So yeah the question is, how you GGG plan to handle the problem when it really grow?
The only way to stop a bot is a Turing test... all other methods can be bypassed.

Yes! Captchas while killing things, I love it. That's how a lot of F2P games have combatted it. I propose having a captcha pop up after every 10-15th mob killed, incorrectly answering it 3 times (I'll admit, some of those captchas are hard for me to do, so many squiggles) OR logging out while a captcha is up results in a 1 day ban. Additional failures add cumulatively to your ban.

Yeah, but if captchas were to be introduced(they won't be) I'd instantly quit the game and many others would do so as well. It's just way too irritating.
The best way would be to have a captcha before you picked up any item. No bots then let me tell you
.....And that's all I have to say about that.
How about having to play a minigame?
Force players to win a game of chess before they can pick up an item!
I'm not overly concerned about botting as a whole in this game, I see it as being isolated to recipe combinations, etc that will be identified and fixed.

I don't see the high end farmable content as being bottable, but I do worry a bit about someone botting lower end content with a high end character, not sure how exactly it would work again the random generation, to farm high end orb, mirrors etc.

Not always true, it has to be absolute though, runescape is a prime example of botting gone wild, they've thought of everything that is within their confines of stopping botting at its source, and have countlessly failed.

There is still aline that needs to be drawn between whats acceptable for the players and whats not to have to deal with these types of intelligence checks.

Again I don't think botting will be a big issue, but I don't want it to even exist in the first place either in PoE, since given how the loot table works, some guy could have 5-6 bots permarunning like ruthless or merciless dense mob area's as like a lv 60-70 without a care in the world and will find rare orbs/mirrors etc very fast.

The biggest problem is that this game is free, so when OB hits, I can literally create thousands of accounts and use my 3 PC´s to bot on them. So far, I have seen nothing that prevents me from doing so..

This is what worries me..
Don't Touch my Sweep please GGG!

It will also prevent new players from joining in when they see hundreds of players named wqeqwr/erqwe/rqwsaf in the first town area as the bots do their thing. Personally, I would uninstall immediately if i see that.

Anyone with an iota of common sense can reason that using a script to play the game for you is cheating.
Suppose a sentient android tries to play a videogame... :P
