" I feel like there's a strong measure of "they can't possibly win" with your viewpoint. A big dose of "damned if they do, damned if they don't" and "you can please some of the people some of the time". I dig this event idea... Honestly probably more than I would another "Colored circle with spawning monsters league". Would it be better if they had handled it perfectly and not gotten wrapped up in POE2 excitement and made all the POE1 zoomers mad? Sure. But also when they did do that and pivoted to an event instead of just clamming up and not saying anything for months like 99.99% of all other game studios, you have to give a little. At least make good faith arguments instead of making up Snidely Whiplash mustache twirling "stupid customers" narratives. You can also just keep table flipping; but maybe realize its not very reasonable. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
