Q: How do I make a new instance? Can I farm an area or a boss?
A: You can make a new instance by Crtl+Left Clicking on either the Way Point or the zone entrance portal and select new. This is also how you reset instances so you can farm bosses or chests, although some bosses do not have chests to farm.
I'm a bit confused about this. For example, I was wanting to reset the instance and farm Merveil, the Siren. To do this, I Ctrl+Left clicked the "Cavern of Wrath" instance. Upon loading, that instance was indeed new, but upon traveling further into the level and reaching "Cavern of Anger" (of which you get to Merveil's Lair), the instance was still my "old" instance, fully explored and looted.
How exactly is instance "resetting" supposed to work to farm bosses? I'm confused. Am I doing something wrong, is there a reset time, etc?

Q: Can I buy more than one currency item at a time from the vendor?
Answer needs updating since you don't need to close the window any more.

Cavern of Wrath, and Cavern of Anger are two independent areas of each other, resetting one doesn't reset the other, however the other could reset on it's own if the time expires.
The map can be confusing here too because it only shows one location, I suspect because the devs figured it's one big cave divided into floors.
Oh and yes there is and automatic reset timer of 8 or 15 minutes (as OP states, an area like mudflats will be 15 minutes thanks to fetid pool, but the ledge will be 8 since it's a straight shot into the next progressive area) but the ctrl+left click is there so you can manually bypass the timer.

So what you're saying is there is no manual way to "reset" instances such as Cavern of Anger or Merveil's Lair itself? Simply instances that directly have a waypoint attached to them? Or am I mistaken. Areas such as Cavern of Anger and Merveil's Lair itself will just have to reach the duration in the timer before resetting?

Not at all what I was going for..
They are independent areas meaning you need to ctrl+left click on the door into Cavern of Anger to reset it, since resetting Cavern of Wrath does nothing for Anger.
I should also specify that her lair is tied to the Cavern of Anger area.. meaning you'll need to reset Cavern of Anger to reset her lair.
Edit:
I'd be more than happy to show you in game if you like.

Okay, thanks a lot. I think I understand. So, Cavern of Anger isn't tied to Cavern of Wrath and thus they both need to be reset separately. However, Merveil's Lair is directly tied to Cavern of Anger and will thus reset when you reset Cavern of Anger.

Exactly what I was going for.
Remember you can ctrl+left click the location icon inside the WP system, or the doorway leading into an area and even going into areas backwards (entering The Cove after WPing into Wrath).
Lastly I believe this area/map setup is generally true of all major bosses including Brutus and Vaal. Major being defined as the door locks behind you when you enter the lair of said boss, which might be why you can't reset her lair by itself anyway.

You would have to go back to the beginning of the Cavern of Wrath > Cavern of Anger entrance to reset it. You can not reset Cavern of Anger from the Cavern of Anger > Merveil's Lair.

Since there was confusion regarding the instance reset and farming I reworded the Q&A regarding it with more detailed information on resetting an instance and also more information regarding the bosses and what zones they were tied to. My instance names could be wrong but hopefully people will understand what I meant.
