Yeah i also don't agree smothering is a good mod. When i get that mod i have to switch added fire for blood magic or i run out of mana because of leeching cut in half.

Vulnerability on the other hand doesn't feel too dangerous.

Not until you've lost 8k Life from a single Puncture will you understand how dangerous Vuln. is.

I took three steps to lose that much life by the way. In a Spider Forest.

Yes vulnerability is a very dangerous mod. There are a few deadly combination I could think of;

Bear/colossal skeleton Rare with cold dmg, physical aura
Corpse eater bird rare with multiple projectile.

The mod itself don't seem to be dangerous enough but complacency tend to get you killed when you mow through map with ease and get killed by not looking carefully at the mode of rare monster example listed above.

Why dont get bleed dispel flask in Vunerability map? Problem solved!

Sometimes the flask is out of charges or you simply don't notice the bleeding in time.

But bleeding is mostly dangerous to spell casters. It doesn't do much to my facebreaker duelist. I have so high regen and physical resistance. Again i think this mod is situational.

Like smothering it's no problems for some builds while a pain for others. Or am i wrong?

half and no-regen is an absolute pain in the ass for 90% of builds, fairly underwhelming +% for such horrific mode, should be like +50 for half and +60 for no-regen

My CI build almost ignores no regen (just need to keep mana flask in case running OOM because of desync), and 50% regen is easily doable with turning off one aura and drinking mana potions.

So, take Vaal Pact and enjoy!

I am fairly confident on the min max(tanked three shots with stacks on a 'normal' maze Vaal without losing too much), though the projectiles makes me wonder: will Vaal shoot spread lasers now? And if so, will it shotgun?

I figured not, since it has not been one of the avoid mods in the first post, but just to be sure.
