Map Management Resource

Alright mappers bring me up to speed. Why is this lvl 71 temple map so amazing? Again i must fail to see it.

# Confusing map layout.

# Rooms filled with these annoying superfast small lightning banners and the big ones spamming lightning strikes and what not.

# Doesn't yield much in terms of loot.

# Risky map boss.

Map is absolute wank in my opinion. Well unless you do it for the challenge of course. Like i did 8)

But if not.. I prefer strand or dry woods any day in the week over temple.

Uhm Yeah. Just thought i'd share my opnion about this supposedly so amazing map.

Regarding the guide.. It seems a bit outdated. Lots of talk about the massive and maze prefix which is no longer in the game. But great job overall i must say even though i don't agree with everything there's some good information in this thread.

Thanks.

Lyralei is updating the guide so its a bit dated at the moment. At time of posting, I believe only through the 67 maps have been updated based on the latest patch. The 68+ really refers to the previous patch, so might want to wait till those are updated.

You can ignore the maze/larger area rolls for now.

Before the updates maps were very uneven, some were pure shit and are a waste of money(underground river) and some were excellent in terms of mob density like temple/waste pool.

After the update, I can say that maps are all equally good(within 10% of each map of that level's density) with the exception of undead/goatmen native maps.

An underground river is equally good as a maze, plateaus are as good as bazaars.
I don't envy Lyralei for having to go through all this again...

Most of them have changed for the better. Some are still terrible from my sources. But as a whole, almost all maps got additional tiles to their base which drastically improves the odds of packs spawning, so that's why you noticed improved density.

Still, its a tedious process..
68s partially updated. Please let me know if there are any issues.
Fantastic guide. Even if it's (still) outdated, it contains very nice info. Thanks a lot for the hard work that went into making it.

I have posted to say my thanks before, but I just feel like doing it again.
Thanks for this great guide, Lyralei :)

My first Demonic map (Countryard) was surprisingly easy and rewarding. 7 maps dropped ranging from level 66 to 77.

Avian Wretches and Tentacle Miscreations pose no real threat to Ondar's Guile dodgers.
Voidbearers are pretty easy for ranged chars with capped fire resist.
Being ranged dodger with capped resists, I like this prefix.

Edit:

Got only 1 map from next demonic map, but a good one:

I know it's RNG, but am still curious if I should aim for this mod given difficulty is not a problem. I.e. if it improves drop potential.
