" I wouldn't worry too much about it. You'll end up with more 66/67/68 maps than you know what to do with eventually, I vendor the 66/67 ones and a few of the 68 ones to get higher ones. When you get to the 70+ maps, make sure to roll them properly. don't worry so much about how many maps you have, since the only way to get maps is running maps at that level anyway. |
|
I was playing around my "pool" carefully in standard. Now watch me solo running map stable-ishly on 76+ maps... It's 90% luck, but the 10% you can influence you need to do it right :D.

I don't get it. I thought map quantity had something to do with map drops but i'm getting more and more sceptical. Or perhaps it only affects regular loot and maps are excluded.
I can do some fully chiseled 100% quantity maps and get nothing. Then do some blue low quantity map and get a bunch of new maps from that. Like today i did 72 mine 110% quantity. Zero maps. Then i did a blue 69 tunnel map with 20 quantity or so and got 2x 71. How much sense does this make?? I have been mapping for a couple of months now and i thought that a couple of months of mapping every day would show some pattern of what quantity does for map drop rate. But i just don't see it. I think map drops are so random that just ignoring quantity when rolling a map is the best course of action (disregarding the factor quantity has for other type of loot) I don't think map drops are too low or too high. They are just.. random. This is my opninon about maps so far and the experience i have collected. Now back to maps here :) Last edited by kompaniet#2874 on Nov 30, 2013, 8:17:19 AM

" That was me. I've just added percentage calculation into my outdated file. Average percentage one would spend on rerolling maps if he follows spreadsheet advice is: For old outdoor maps the result is stable and close to 14% for maps of 10 - 100 chaos price. For old indoor mazable maps it's 25% for a 10 chaos map, 33% for a 25 chaos map, 20% for a 50 chaos map. More for a cheaper map! Unexpected? No! We had to maze both 25 and 50 chaos maps spending ~8 chaos. Some of bad mazes for 50 chaos map should had been rerolled, but not too many. Interesting, but doesn't matter anymore. Without Maze mod I expect results to be close to old outdoor maps. Even a bit lower since we've lost the most impactful mod for outdoor maps too and will be getting flatter distribution. So, my scientifically guesstimated answer is 1/8. Spend 1/8 of map price on rolling it on average. More if you prefer selling maps, not buying them. I'm surprised it's so low. PS. Original spreadsheet is of no use after the latest patch. Last edited by SunnyRay#1519 on Nov 30, 2013, 4:40:56 PM
