Map Management Resource
Never alc a 66. You can buy another 66 for an alc easily. This gives you a virtual map with a +100% maze and two bosses, to which you get to add more rolls with Transmutes.
Never maze/regal Grotto. You can buy 4 Grottos for one Regal, giving a +400% Virtual Maze with five bosses to which you get to add more rolls with Transmutes. Similar arguments hold (to a lesser degree) for spending Regals on Pyramid and Spider Lair. I simply chance my Pyramids hoping for a Vault. I would call Tunnel a toss-up (see above), but Overgrown Shrine (way better than Tunnel), Temple, and Arachnid Lair should be Maze/Regaled. Temple you may even consider using a bunch of Chaos to get a Maze if you can afford it Dear Maligaro, I left my head in San Francisco, I lost my legs in Peru My liver and kidney are on holiday in Sydney And I am sending my Heart to you --- Love, Malachai Last edited by Flapdrol#5373 on May 29, 2013, 4:02:34 AM

It varies by player but past a certain point some players end up not mazing or even chiseling 71s and under.

Made changes to Grotto. These were written well before the patch giving Piety a map slot was introduced. Quite redundant to actually make Maze mandatory right now, so run it as you would any other map.

"# I subscribe to this belief. The chance to Vaal +1% maximum resists on an amulet is less than 1/300.

" maybee i am totaly wrong with my thoughts about that (cause looks like common sence never alch 66/67 maps). but with the +quanity you get from alchs (idk maybee ~30% average?) you get a lot more items. maps, currencys, rares, uniques, 6s, 3L (red-green-blue)... for me it feels like i get much more out of it as the investet alch. ofc you can have bad luck with rolls and get temp chains or something what you would slow down or make the map imposible for you (blood magic with ci-char for example). but also you can get good luck and have multiple good affixes. and if you have a second char that can run the maps easy that the first can`t it looks for me its worth to alch each 66/67 map. but maybee i miss something, so please enlight me :) (sry for bad english) |

I don't agree with the people saying that it isn't worth it to alch 66 maps. If you have high quantity, high quantity maps pay off big time. I can get like 3 chaos every time just from drops from any alched map. I would only get 1 on any transmuted map.

I've been following this guide pretty much to the letter starting with a large pool of 66 maps. I settled for no less than 38% quantity on every map or labyrinthe or 35%+ magic/pack size. In other words, probably better than the guide recommends.
And yet, I still seem to be bleeding maps, even with such a large starting pool (about 50 66 maps and 25 67 maps). I seem to get about 0.82 maps per map I run, over the course of the past 144 maps. Why is this? Shouldn't the rate of return be above 1? Certainly I've ran enough maps to beat RNG... IGN: SlurpyDurp Last edited by AlexDiC#6566 on May 31, 2013, 12:30:26 AM
