No. Why?
I never have 70+. And I got nothing back from that map. :/

Nvm her name was Lylirra-- my bad!
First of all, amazing guide. Well done sir.

I'm not on these forums much, so only just found this now, when I had come to a crossroads in my map progression, and decided to seek advice.

I'm running a lvl82 CI siphon witch. I mostly play solo or duo with an IRL mate. My net/comp is of too poor quality to play in larger parties.
I already use some form of map sustainability plan, which has not only advanced my map levels, but provided many excess low level maps, that get sold for currency to upgrade better maps (alts, chisels, etc).

For a good length of time, this was successful, but when I got to the point of mostly running 69/70 maps, I encountered problems. I was dropping low level maps, or none at all. Very rarely getting a map of equal or greater level than what I was running.
I stopped selling lower level maps, opting to run them myself to try rebuild my map pool. Little success.
So I've gone from maintaining a collection of ~50 maps, steadily increasing in average level, with many excess 66/67's being sold off, to a measly 22 maps left.

So now I have 3x66, 3x67, 2x68, 2x70, 11x71(mostly temples and arachnid nests), 1x72 maps remaining.

Which brings me to my question: Do I just run the 70+ maps I have, and hope to avoid a bad streak, or do I go back to basics, grinding my pool back to a healthier level?
If I ran all my 70+ and got nothing to keep going with, it's basically back to the start of endgame grind again, basically killing my motivation to play this great game.

Note: I'm more concerned with gaining levels and maps, than with collecting loot to sell.

Thank you in advance for your time, should you choose to reply.
I would advise you to do neither. Instead, opt to run a mix of low level and high level maps. I suggested this because I firmly believe that you should play to have fun. Low level maps are a good source of currency to fuel your higher pools (and currency dropping frequently makes you feel better) and are generally relaxing to do. An uncommon train of thought but it works.

Doing this allows you to 1) Gain Experience, 2) Gain Currency, 3) Opportunity to get decent items 4) Invest more heavily in your good maps because of the currency gained from your lower maps.

In contrast, by selling your lower level maps, you only gain a paltry sum of currency.

I just want to throw this out there (incase you already didn't know)-- If you're always dying to Piety in Temple (71 map), try bringing some topaz flasks with you. And use tp's to your advantage (especially if you're soloing) to refill your topaz flasks.
Hi !
First of all, thx for this EXCELLENT thread ! Great work, very well presented. Congrat's guys :)

I've looted a Coward's Trial map yesterday. This is my first unique map, so I'm quite excited about it. However, I don't wanna waste it (ie open it, die inside and not be able to finish it).

I'm planning to do it with a bunch of IRL friends I'm playing with. We're 3 lvl 75-80, CI cold witch, rain of arrow marauder, heavy strike marauder, with common stuff.
To get an idea of our strength, we're doing lvl 68 maps without any problems (although we try to avoid mods such as elemental weakness, no regen, +% dmg as lightning etc.). We've never tried lvl 69 maps 'cause we don't have any :D

So, my main question is : are we able to complete Coward's Trial or should we wait a few levels before trying it ? I read here and there that it's not that easy, and that there are some performance problems(low fps). Is it still the case or has it been corrected by patches ?
Secondly : should we prepare something specific for this map ? (specific potions, a specific curse ...)

thx for your help !

ps : btw, my map is quite low (22 waves/33 seconds between waves). I read on the first page that it is worth it to reroll the stats in such a case. Does it really make a huge difference to have some additional waves ?

edit : I just read this "The only thing that directly influences the drop rate of maps within a map is the IIQ of the map"

What's the IIQ ?

Gread guide ! That is the greatest compendium about MAPs I ever read. Good work ! Oh and btw...

I smell some challange here... and dead body, I'm only hoping it is not mine :)

... quoting myself is a little awkward but, to the point :
I run this map and it was, believe me or not, pretty easy. The point is that I had 1 map lv71 from it and I consider it to be "ok", couse I haven't seen many magic monsters pack, tho about 7 rares. It was the first time I run 127% and seams like I was hoping for map explosion or smth. To sum it up I'm thinking that monster variety may have huge impact for map drop-rate, besides RNG. In other words some types of monster, especially magic ones may have better chance of droping maps, or maybe it's just my imagination. That conclusion has not been settle only by this one specific map, but with all my map-experience. F.E : if I get Slithering Prefix (witches and thier spawn) even with good 80%++ quantity on map 70lv+ I kind of not seeing any better maps then 69. I know one thing well - Mapping is different from cooking a cake : You can't just mix some eggs + flavour, add sugar, maybe more sugar and fruits, mix it all, put in the oven for 50 min at 220 Celsius degree and expect to see some awesome result even if You did it a lot of times, no. You chisel the map, roll it mods, then run it -> map rolls some monster variety: sometimes hard packs, other times not and then finally RNG comes by and luckily drops some maps. There is no ultimate success for it, but ofc You can rise the chance a little bit. And that's why players need guides like this :)
